Of course, Hamilton is no genuine Swedish spy/detective anymore, he has become a fighter in an international battlefield where terrorism, spread of values and use of natural resources are often related or intertwined, and where a small(er) country has a role of younger brother... Real decisions and actions are taken somewhere high and far away. Nevertheless, the pace is still there, actors are good and chasing/ambush scenes are catchy to follow. Well, some topics and understandings may be simplified and too black-and-fight, but - on the other hand - one cannot ponder so much on right-and-wrong in a film shorter than 1,5 hours. The ending appears too suddenly and is rather trivial, I would have expected some twist or unexpected nuance.
But still, Hamilton: Men inte om det gäller din dotter is neither disappointment nor boring, and it is definitely no US admiring film.

This is an adaptation from popular novels about Carl Hamilton and his assignments for Swedish government , filmed with high budget and Swedish players. This Sweden production stars Hamilton , a tough action hero , being one-faced agent who'll stop at nothing to get his purports and at whatever cost , including grisly killings in cold blood . It begins when Swedish intelligence agent Carl Hamilton (Mikael Persbrandt) gets busy when is assigned the dangerous mission to chase a group of Soviet rebels intend to smuggle powerful Swedish weapons. Carl and his colleague must risk life and limb to stop the gunrunners . Meanwhile , the chief of Swedish Security Agency Eva Tanguy (Frida Hallgren) avoids an assassination of a political leader that is visiting Sweden, resulting in fateful consequences , including a kidnap .Then , Hamilton goes Beirut to meet the Lybian agent Mouna Al Fathar (Seba Mubarak) and after in the desert where encounters the baddies's base . A little hostage is kidnapped and locked at an Arabian castle but cold and two-fisted Hamilton goes on the attack on the headquarter . Special agent Hamilton learns that he will get no help from the Swedish secret services.
This is an impressing Action-Movie from Sweden , the film displays suspense , action-packed , thriller , violent fights and is quite entertaining . A well done Swedish Action-Flic in old style , this "Hamilton 2" is a very entertaining and action-packed with full of suspense and violence . Mikael Persbrandt is nearly as good as other Hamiltons previously performed by Stellan Skarsgard and Peter Stormare . Here Hamilton/Mikael Persbrandt is forced to play by his own rules when his goddaughter is kidnapped by terrorists . Based on the novels by Jan Guillou , but the books are in fact better because of the many details given about the different secret services and political conspirations . It keeps the audience reminded of the fact that good & evil deeds depends on whom you are pulling for . A very different hero , who isn't a posterboy , but somebody you could easily mistake for a crook by his emaciated outer appearance . The picture in itself explores the difficult feelings of a relentless agent whose methods may be ugly , if even horrible and more or less suffering from previous family assassinations and a girlfriend. It's action with a nice twist , making it agreeable and interesting enough. The highlights of the film are the impressive beginning when a convoy is assaulted and a breathtaking final attack with fighting , pursuits and explosions . This is an acceptable sequel but it really lacks Guillou's humor and political commentary witch makes the movie seem a little monotone at times . It displays a colorful cinematography shot in Spanish exteriors , such as : La Calahorra, Castle La Calahorra, La Calahorra , Granada, Andalucía, Almeria, Andalucia, Spain, London, England, UK , Stockholms län, Sweden.
This is the sequel of "Hamilton I" (2012) by Kathrine Windfeld with Mikael Persbrandt , Saba Mubarak , Pernilla August , Jason Flemyng , in which Hamilton reunites a command formed by five tough soldiers , they are parachuted into Russian tundra where meet the smugglers and a missile SS,20, 1,5 megatons ."Codename Coq Rouge" 1989 by Per Berglund with Stella Skarsgard . "The Democratic Terrorist" 1992 by Per Berglund with Stellan Skarsgard . "Comando Hamilton" 1998 by Harald Zwart with Peter Stormare , Mark Hamill , Lena Olin. "Hamilton" (2001-2001) TV series , 4 episodes with Peter Stormare , Terry Carter ,among others .

When the chief of Swedish Security Agency Eva Tanguy (Frida Hallgren) avoids an assassination of a political leader that is visiting Sweden, she accepts to give an interview to the press and her words are twisted by the journalists. Soon her seven-year daughter Nathalie (Nadja Christiansson) is kidnapped in a park. The girl is the goddaughter of Carl Hamilton (Mikael Persbrandt) that investigate the case. He follows leads to United Kingdom and finds where Nathalie is and that he should not rely on his secret service that is compromised. He summons Mouna Al Fathar (Saba Mubarak), Nathalie's father Pierre Tanguy (Reuben Sallmander), who was a member of the French Foreign Legion and the mercenary Patrik Wärnstrand (Peter Eggers) to rescue Nathalie from the fortress of the terrorists.
"Men inte om det gäller din dotter", a.k.a."Agent Hamilton: But Not If It Concerns Your Daughter", is another great Swedish action movie with the character Carl Hamilton. The plot follows the action of 007 or other good spy movies and the only problem is the language. If you have not seen this movie yet, please be advised that it is worthwhile watching. My vote is seven.

But still a good movie nevertheless. It's just that the first movie set a higher standard and of course the sequel was going to be compared to that. Which also means, that the third movie (due in 2014 if all goes along nicely), will have a lesser burden to carry. Having said that, there is no need to watch the first movie to understand this one. Though if you're thinking about missing out on one of the movies, it'd be wise to watch the other one instead.
Hamilton reprises his role (not alone, there is other characters that are familiar from the first movie, without connecting them too much) and he does a good job. There's conspiracy, thrill and action in this movie and you will be entertained.

HAMILTON: BUT NOT IF IT CONCERNS YOUR DAUGHTER is a Swedish thriller, based on a popular novel character, and a follow-up to HAMILTON: IN THE INTEREST OF THE NATION. This is a lesser sequel in every respect, with a story that somehow manages to be more simplified and more complex at the same time; as well as that, it's not particularly suspenseful as a movie. Watching this you realise just how good the original film was.
Still, it's not all bad, and HAMILTON 2 certainly isn't a poor film by any means. The tale of international terrorism and political machinations is a well-written one, so it's just a shame than the central thriller plot is so basic. Hamilton goes around and questions suspects and then embarks on a mission to rescue his kidnapped goddaughter. That's all there is to it, and the ending in particular is oddly anti-climatic, leaving you wondering 'is that it?'
Fans will find the production values remain strong after the first movie, and the acting is also of a superior quality. I wouldn't have minded the basic storyline had it propped up some strong action scenes, but the action is very limited here and not particularly well shot by director Tobias Falk, who previously directed some BATTLE FRONT video games. However, Mikael Persbrandt is an engaging and charismatic screen presence, so it's a pity he doesn't have as much to get his teeth into as he did in the last film. Seba Mubarak also returns in support, and Frida Hallgren does good work as the crusading light. Watch out for cameoing British stars Steven Waddington, David Rintoul, and Cal MacAninch.
