No one wants to be called the worst. But someone’s got to wear the disgraced crown, and for 2024, Metacritic handed that honor to Fulqrum Publishing. In its 15th Annual Game Publisher Rankings, using nothing but critic reviews, the site declared Fulqrum the lowest-ranked publisher of the year. Yikes.
But every horror story needs a twist, and in Fulqrum’s case, that twist may come in the form of their dark, atmospheric single-player title, Stygian: Outer Gods. Currently in Early Access and on sale on Steam, this eerie Lovecraftian experience might just be the redemption arc the studio needs.
Fulqrum Publishing: From rough rankings to rising potential
With rankings out, it would be an understatement to say that Fulqrum had a bumpy 2024. With a modest average Metascore of 71.1 and only one “good” title by critic standards, the publisher ended up dead last out of 37 eligible companies in the rankings.

Set in a disturbing cosmic horror vision inspired by H.P. Lovecraft, Forgive Me Father 2 plunges players into the fractured psyche of a priest battling eldritch terrors both within and without.
Developed by Polish studio Byte Barrel and released on Windows PC, this first-person shooter acts as a direct sequel to 2017’s Forgive Me Father. Picking up the priest’s story, it finds him confined to a dark asylum as unfathomable entities work to colonize his mind.
Through surreal and nightmarish levels, players must guide our nameless priest further into the maddening depths of his own consciousness. There, amid twisted environments and mangled memories, players will encounter grotesque monstrosities born of Lovecraftian fiction.
With pixellated visuals paying homage to vintage horror comics and games, Forgive Me Father 2 immerses players in a disturbing cosmic dreamscape. Violence and disturbing imagery feature heavily, reflecting the psychological scars and ravages inflicted on the protagonist’s psyche.

It isn’t every day that a crime thriller reveals who the serial killer is within the first act and a half, but filmmaker Fredi ‘Kruga’ Nwaka’s Forgive Me Father chooses to play it this way rather than go down the road of whodunit. Instead, the writer-director leaves the motivation up in the air until the […]
