Swap Me, Baby

This could have been much more interesting, but in the end there is just not enough ideas for a full movie. The swap was cleverly done, giving each perspective on life a fresh understanding. It's the walk a mile in someone else's shoes idea done surprisingly well. I would guess the main actress was really pregnant during filming (else great prosthetics) which added to the realism. The downside is the crass moments were one sided and forced, and at 1 hour and 22 minutes, including unnecessary montages, there is just not enough movie here.

Sure, the synopsis for this movie sounded interesting and fun, and the movie's cover/poster was also one that looked like this would be a fun movie. So, of course I sat down to watch writer Jesse Luman and director Caden Butera's 2022 comedy "Swap Me, Baby".

Now, I hadn't even heard about "Swap Me, Baby" before I stumbled upon it and sat down to watch it, so I didn't have any expectations for the movie. But I have to say that I was only slightly entertained by the storyline in "Swap Me, Baby", as written by Jesse Luman. But it wasn't a particularly good movie, and I actually also drifted off to slumberland once during the duration of the movie.

I can't claim that there was a lot of funny situations or contents to the movie really, and that is what made "Swap Me, Baby" a somewhat dull and mundane movie experience. I wouldn't recommend that you waste your time, money or effort on "Swap Me, Baby", not even if you enjoy comedies.

The acting performances by Ava Bogle and Falk Hentschel were actually good, just a shame that they had precious little to work with in terms of script and storyline. This movie has a very small cast ensemble, keep that in mind.

My rating of "Swap Me, Baby" lands on a generous three out of ten stars.

Everyone had a blast watching this move! Original take on a classic body swap with some fun twists. I'll definitely watch it again!

The acting was top tier and the writing was witty and hilarious. Crazy what they did with such a small crew and tiny budget!

The comedy may not always be to everyone's taste but the characters are enjoyable to watch and the film doesn't overstay it's welcome. It's a wholesome comedy.

This movie has some of the funniest adult comedy gags I've ever seen. The commitment of the lead actors to their body swapping roles is so good. I didn't ever want them to change back. And just when you think the film wouldn't go there, it does. It also remains honest without resorting to cheap jokes for the sake of shock, each moment is grounded in reality and the rules of this fantasy world.

While you can tell it was shot on a shoestring budget, they make the most of it by really focussing on the two lead character's relationship and crazy circumstance. It's a great date night movie - especially for couples who have already gone through having a baby - or are currently going through it!
