From the story line that kept me intrigued from the very first scene, to the quality of the acting and top notch videography, this was a well done cinematic experience. I send a huge congratulations to the entire cast and production team because the time, effort and determinaton to "Release" this timeless product is evident. The writer, Tawanda Auston, is a force to be reckoned with and I cannot wait to see more of her work! This is a highly recommeded film, so I decided to purchase it instead of renting it on Amazon: I want to always have access to this passion project. I saw it on the big screen two times and each time, I took something different away that has helped me grow personally and professionally.
I laughed, cried, and healed watching this movie. It was well written and executed. The concept of releasing emotional and mental energy causing stress and strife is an essential message for enhanced quality of life. I speak to the importance of releasing to whomever will listen. It is so refreshing to go see a full feature film that entertains but also educates. This movie was very realistic and practical. Because of this movie I no longer hold things inside of me. Life is heavy when one does not practice releasing. I am grateful to say I forgot I was watching a movie. Excellently done. Salute to the actors, casting directors, director and producer.
Release is a film that invites viewers into an emotional journey of growth, connection, and healing. At its core, Release is about the difficult but rewarding process of emotional release. The film doesn't offer quick fixes or simple answers. Instead, it shows that true healing comes from confronting one's emotions, understanding their origins, and letting them go in order to move forward. This message is conveyed through the personal journeys of the characters, each of whom brings their own history and pain to the retreat. It offers an honest portrayal of the struggles people face when trying to release their past and find peace within themselves. The film's message of confronting and releasing negative energy in order to embrace a healthier, more positive future resonates deeply and will speak to anyone who has ever faced personal hardship or emotional difficulty. Well written and incredible performances.
Sometimes getting away from your normal routine can help you face your thoughts. What troubles you will often come to mind at these times. What better way to use that time to reflect on your issues than getting in touch with your present self as well. The courage it takes even to take that step is powerful in this story. EDIT: After another couple of viewings I have found even more nuance making it even more relatable. With the same movies being remade or rebooted over and over again (Don't we all already know Batman and Spiderman's origin story) this movie takes me back to when people actually told stories...and this movie succeeds magnifically.

This incredible movie has truly supported my healing journey. It helped me understand the importance of prioritizing self-care-mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. I highly recommend it to anyone in need of healing or a reminder to put themselves first. Never feel guilty for taking care of yourself. Do what makes you happy, and most importantly, what makes your heart smile.
Most of all, it's important to express yourself and share your feelings-but make sure you're speaking to the right ears. It's okay to go to therapy. It's okay to say you need help. And it's absolutely okay to walk through some parts of your journey alone. Healing isn't always easy, but it's always worth it."
