The Hive

The first question: why there must be a male main character in a series about bees? Perhaps just because in our gendered world most main characters have to be male. But is this enough reason, or reason at all, to teach our little children biological nonsense? Everyone should know that male bees are only living for fertilization and leave the hive only one time in live, to have sex and die. Why learn the kids about numerous adventures of a male bee? They just should have made the plot around a female main character and everything would have been fine... a little breaking human gender rules for a little biological truth please.

This show freaks my 4 year old daughter out because none of the characters have any arms or legs? Is it cheaper to draw them with no arms or legs. It is quite disturbing to see that.

Now I just need to write some filler at the bottom to make sure that I get the minimum word count. How is your day going today? Hope you've had more sleep than me. It's funny though won't be long before you can't drag them out of bed before noon once they are teenagers. But I think I've reached the minimum now. Have a great day, get some sleep.

I recall the animation that was on TV when I was a kid. Some of it you couldn't even rate as 2-D. These days it's mind blowing how far computer graphics have come in such a short space of time in the grand scheme of things. "The Hive" is animated series that is fairly new and follows a bee family and primarily centred around Buzzbee, the young male in the family. My two year old daughter loves this show more than anything and whilst it's on the world stops still for her. If fact, one of her first words was "buzz". The episodes can be watched at ABC online, and I'm keenly awaiting the release of the plush toys for a present that will no doubt elevate me to the status of a living hero. Highly recommended.
