I'm writing this review partly because I've been watching the show with my daughter and partly because I read a negative review and thought it was very misleading. I want to set the record straight.
I just finished one adorable episode where the kids traveled to visit reindeer and learn what they eat and how the find it. Next they befriended a spider and learned how a web is made. I didn't know some of the web-making details (I'm a 52-year-old scientist) but it was presented in a fun and entertaining way that anyone could understand. My daughter is 3 years old and I'm sure she doesn't get all of it, but she loves to watch and it certainly isn't too simple for her. It is for children, but Martin Short is doing the Cat-In-The-Hat voice and he is a huge talent and always funny. I think it is very amusing both for children and adults.
I'm watching it in high def on a 1080p HDTV and it looks fantastic. I have no idea what the other reviewer is talking about. The animation is pleasant to watch and I don't see any problems with shading -- I don't think there is any shading.
Anyway, it's a great new show. It is educational and fun. We'll definitely be watching it for a few years.

I've always watched PBA television shows with my kids. They are 9 and 12 and we've been watching these shows since they were born. This is an excellent way for me to spend time with them, reminisce on when I read The Cat in the Hat, and now - able to share the new adventures with them as well. It's an excellent show! The rhymes are great! The stories show huge imagination. All of us who remember the book series also remember that the imagination was always the large part of the series. Now, coming to life on television, is even better. The experiences the kids and Cat in the Hat go through are funny and exciting! My kids enjoy the show. I enjoy the show!
The Cat in the Hat has a lot of education stuff for children to learn (like science and other stuff) Though I do miss this show and I would love to see more episodes of this show someday. Maybe a new series show (or new episodes) of Nick and Sally going to more crazy adventures and sometimes visits the Cat's house (I don't even know if Cat has his own house) but then make a long special episode of Nick and Sally in a rocketship during space but then a huge astroid or whatever hits the rocket and damage it bad. Nick and Sally (this isn't a real episode yet btw but just sharing my idea) and Cat runs to the escape pod but then can't turn on the button to escape because the machine says "Only can carry two people" so Nick and Sally kept clicking the button until they realized Cat wasn't with them as soon as Nick and Sally saw Cat behind when the door shut. Cat basically sacrifice himself by leaving the escape pod and explains to the kids that everything will be alright and that he's just trying to protect them from danger. Long story short Nick and Sally lands to Earth, eventually at home at the yard, and saw the Cat in the Hat again. Nick and Sally cries in joy that the Cat is still alive as they hug Cat, and I guess that's it lol.
LOL this is cute, I wish there were more seasons. I like the animation too.
The Only thing I find. creepy is. when the kids ask the parents to go somewhere with The Cat in The Hat and the parents just say they can go, they don't come down stairs or in the other room to even see the kids off.
Sometimes the dang cat be in their houses and the parents don't notice 😂 I bet you if the parents walked down stairs and saw a huge cat in their living room with a hat, they'D probably have a heart attack.

Pay no attention to the other reviews, they clearly didn't really watch the show. My 5 and 3 year old love this show and after every episode we've ask the kids what they learned and every time the kids learned (at least) one thing from every story.
It's fun, bright and educational.
Season 3 really leans into the wackiness that was Dr Seuss, but still maintains its educational achievements.
The fact that the Cat is voiced by fellow Canadian is an added bonus.
The hour long Halloween and Christmas specials are good as well. Fun and still educational.
Can't recommend this enough to families with young kids.
