Strong casting helps tell the story of redemption

"The Lightning Makers" delivers a compelling and emotionally rich storyline brought to life by a strong ensemble of seasoned actors. It follows three diverse and desperate young women, each facing her own personal crossroads, as they navigate identity, trauma, and the search for meaning. The pacing lags in places, and the film runs a bit long, but stay with it - the emotional payoff is worth the time. There's a raw honesty to the storytelling that lingers. Of course, Jasmine Guy steals the show with her dominant presence, delivering a performance that's both powerful and nuanced. A thoughtful, well-crafted indie drama that deserves more attention.
