I have never seen or heard of any Turkish shows before. I am grateful that Netflix had it available in English.
It was slow but I couldn't stop watching. I loved the main female character. She was so strong & beautiful. The generations after generations of abuse, in many forms that women experience.
The show seems very primitive & simple, but I do not know Turkish culture. Although stories & dialog were intense.
I binged both seasons at once and am awaiting for season 3 hopefully sooner rather than later.
Give the show a try with an open mind. It would be interesting to see another Turkish show however, I would not be able to watch without out it being dubbed in English.

I enjoyed a lot and wanted to see more episodes of this series. Acting and screenplay was perfect. There were both tears and laugh on my face during each episode. Hope to see other season asap.

I've been interested in Turkey because i lived in Turkey in the late 50s. This series is probably the most entertaining and well acted series in a long time, full stop.
I love this genre of crime and enjoyed it immensely. However, the issue of femicide is worldwide and one of the highest here in the USA. If this is a new topic allowed in Turkey, I understand. This relevant show may receive even more attention if the storyline focused less on uber feminism and on the very powerful crimes against the weak, children and the elderly.
I have an issue with the strict demands of the review length. Therefore, I added this,

It was the most beautiful TV series I've watched recently, not a fantastic detective series, but a gripping series about today's justice system and femicide. The acting is very good i highly recommend it.

This is a very well done mystery TV series. The plot, the cast, the locations, the color grading, the music, are all contributing to its success. I wish they had filmed more than 4 episodes. Having watched many Turkish series, I can easily say that I am impressed by this one. It is also highlighting a very serious issue in Turkey, women's safety. Worth watching!
I can say that it is the best Turkish crime series I have watched so far. Indeed, Birce Akalay's masterful acting comes to the fore in every series. I can say that I was completely emotionally affected while watching the series. Viewers who like to watch detective content, you should definitely watch this series.

Mezarlik is a crime drama in 4 story documentary format. The interesting part about this crime drama is it deals with feminicide in a society that is patriarchal. It tries to bring to light the social and political implication of an issue that is swept under the rug or ignored. I highly recommend this series. With an incredible and realistic
Performance by Birce Akalay and other actors the series comes to light. You will cry. You will be horrified and ashamed of what women go through in domestic violence
Unlike Amber Heard.

A first for me with watching a turkish drama series but it blew me away! Really gripping storyline of a cold case unit taking on female death cases which brings up female abuse seemingly not a problem with the old laws. Strong female lead with a strong cast u can relate with, the series itself holds nothing back with true grit and sometimes hard to watch scenes. The english dubbing can sometimes be not what the subtitles say and maybe a bit over dramatic at times but overall not as bad as some other foreigh drama series ive seen. Binged series 1 in a day and working my way through series 2 now.... Really worth watching!

Everything about this tv serie is a master piece. Details, background of the stories, characters, acting every little detail is on point. I cant wait for season 2! Its all I want to watch at the moment!
For hardcore Turkish audience. Mismatch and highly inspired by Scandinavian detective thrillers. In fact episode 3 is almost borrowed from a Scandinavian thriller also on Netflix. Too many personal interactions which don't add any substance to the story. Formulaic but not in a good way.
In my country, they try to make people stupid because they are easily governed. The whole world knows the reason for this. That's why stupid series get ratings and quality series are banned. Please do not believe the ratings. They are fake. The series producers should continue to make quality, intelligent series like this one so that our people can learn something. The only fault is that the company that produced the series Don't let them bow to your demands. We don't need the swearing, the den, and things like that. That company is a dump anyway. You know which one. The one in the hands of the cartels.

This is definitely one of the best tv shows of this type that I've seen in a while! From the concept, cinematography, scenes, colours, themes, characters and development, to actual cast and plot - everything is so brilliant and draws you in.
It's not overdone, the plot and storytelling flows nicely, everything has logical ending, continuation, and build up. Plot twists too - there hasn't been one that gave 'deus ex machina' kind of feel. Plot twists are also naturally built and created, and by the time of each episode you feel for every single character and their storyline.
The themes it's been speaking against have been brilliantly worked with and highlighted - from the systemic oppression of women, through inequalities and crime over women, to fear of speaking out because almost always there is some kind of retaliation.
Please please please - we need more seasons asap! :D.

It was a quality series made for women's murders. Apart from the main female character, the casting is very good. The Voids was the first Turkish female murder series, this was the second.
It's a very powerful production. It gives hope that the disorders in the police organization and the justice system can be improved in Turkey and perhaps in many other countries. They also touched on important issues such as femicide and bigotry. It's reminiscent of Tomy Lee Jones' cop female character and Shelock Holmes as a team. Now we have a new hero. The second episode could have been done a little more carefully; could have been gripping and exciting as the others. In general the script, editing, acting and shooting are very good. A movie that makes you say "I'm glad I watched it". We look forward to the directors' next productions.
So pressed over a series that talks about this issue shows you're one of them. And I see your other
bad reviews on an other all female cast film/series . So triggered over seeing a woman?😹

Admittedly, I didn't immediately find my way into this series. It seemed a little too sluggish at the beginning and the frightening scenes held me back. One day I decided to start it again - to watch all four episodes until the end - and it was the best decision ever!!! Insanely good and impressive acting, a wonderfully thought-out scenario and incredibly captivating! I'm so glad I watched this series, it was the best series I've seen in a long time. Not only philosophical wisdom and reference to today's harsh reality, but also a mirror of todays corrupt law representatives and it's political background, the brutal rise of murder of women and the injustice in society... all this while highly professional filming and editing. I was looking for a somewhat logical error until the end and found none! At times I became very emotional, very excited or just as hopeless as the actors. I felt the emotions and experienced everything with them! I particularly liked the unembellished portrayal of this world and the development of the individual characters. I found the personal conversation between Serdar and Önem in the last episode particularly touching. Birce Akalay is an incredibly talented actress. I am absolutely thrilled and can only recommend the movie with a clear conscience! A masterpiece! Watch it all and see it to the end!

Terrible acting, lazy screenwriting, pathetic production value. I forced myself to finish each episode but it was not easy to accomplish. Stay away if you value your time.
Birce is such a good actress, I love this series it shows the stories of women who fell victims of abuse. This series showed the eagerness and hardwork of the lead role to bring justice to her fellow women. Also, it's a shame that we will never get to know the case of Hasan Bey's daughter, are they gonna be able to solve it? What are the missing and incoherent details of his daughter's murder? Yazik ya the best series I have watched last year by far. I don't care about people saying that this series is a waste of time, well it ain't for me because I am a woman and awareness is always important.

Very realistic, intriguing and inspiring! Gripping storyline and strong performances with a an amazing female lead! Birce is a very impressive actress, I watched many of her shows but this one is definitely one of the best ones! She is perfectly suited for this role. After watching the first episode I thought it was a little slow, but still engaging, and I am glad I continued watching it, because after watching a few more I was totally hooked! I am hoping this show will catch the wider audience, as the issue of femicide and cultural issues surrounding female violence and femicide that isn't only issue in Turkey, but many other countries. I really hope there will be a season 2, definitely worth watching!!
I binged this in just two days! The writing is incredible, the casting is spot-on, and the plot is absolutely gripping. I loved it so much-I really hope there's a season 3! The writers do a phenomenal job of giving depth to each character beyond the crimes they're solving. They give us just enough to form a real emotional connection, and I was sobbing by the end of season 2. I also appreciated the stunning views of Istanbul and how each character has their own reason for being part of the unit. It powerfully highlights the pursuit of justice for women in a country where so many cases go unsolved. Exceptionally well done.

I loved this series...both seasons has very good story writing and acting and so much dry humor. Kept me up 2 nights to binge watch. The group is so funny all together but it is a serious program. And then the main character, Birce Akalay, she is an excellent actress and has an absolutely beautiful voice. She sang with her costar daughter and it was beautiful!!! Very worth watching if you like suspense, mystery and a bit of humor.
It is a Turkish series but with closed captions on it was very easy to follow. I am hoping that a Series 3 will follow.
I highly recommend it to all murder mystery addicts like myself.

Very good. It focuses on different murder cases solved by a specialist team headed up by the impressive Birce Acalay. I like the way the characters are all very human and express their emotions frequently, quite different from the usual detective series. You therefore get to know the team members more deeply so feel more engaged with the series. For example Birce has a loving relationship with her daughter that is very pleasing to witness. The only thing that lets it down are the irritating formulaic scenes where the bosses complain, tell the team off, threaten to replace them etc etc.etc etc etc.
