Michael McIntyre is a funny man, both with his jokes, but also with his mannerisms and delivery of jokes. And this "Hello Wembley!" show is definitely worth sitting down to watch if you enjoy stand-up comedy. And the DVD contains bits from his "Comedy Roadshow" as well.
This comedian is bursting with energy and is really at home on the stage. And he owns the stage, no doubt about that. And it is a sheer pleasure to watch him on the stage performing and delivering well-timed jokes and punchlines. The jokes are funny, witty and delivered with a great sense of timing.
If you are not already familiar with Michael McIntyre then "Hello Wembley!" could serve quite well as a great introduction. You will be properly entertained for about an hour and a twenty minutes. And the jokes are, unlike so many other stand-up comedians, not only based on sex and below-the-belt events, which makes it a wholesome entertaining show for almost just about everyone.
So say hello to Wembley and welcome a great stand-up comedian on the stage.

This is a superb stand-up, by one of the best comedians out there at the moment!! just superb, his witty one liners, and different outlooks on life are extremely funny all the way through. Many stand-ups have areas of the show which are worse than others, but this is gr8 all the way through. Maybe not as good as live and laughing, but that was 'out of this world' amazing. This then is my second favourite stand-up comedy of all time!! I've heard that his comedy roadshow was not as good, but these two are great at the top of his career. Many comedians do some great stand-ups one year and then get bad really quickly, but McIntyre appears to have kept it going.
After appearing from nowhere two years previously this was the Michael McIntyre show that really made him famous and was the most successful comedy DVD of the time.
It's McIntyre at his best. The material is sharp and engaging, with McIntyre not having to rely on some of the weaker aspects of his style that have become apparent since. At times he has almost become a parody of himself and that's a shame because he is a very talented comedian and deserves the adoration he receives.
Overall if you're looking for an example of McIntyre's work then this would be the DVD i'd go for.

Michael McIntyre's first Stand Up was breath-taking, literally. It was fresh it has lively it was unique but original all in one! His second stand up – Hello Wembley, is not so. As a stand-up show it is well above average but I cannot help but compare it with his previous stand up 12 months earlier.
It is still the same Michael we see in his previous show but something is missing, the thing that made his first show such a success, has gone and I can't quite put my finger on it. His approach seems to be a little different, he seems to shout a lot more and ends his jokes quite abruptly, and the stories don't flow as well. Don't get me wrong, many the stories he tells us are hilarious and similar to his previous show, many are relatable. He seems to have lost his quirkiness in this one, his one liners and his witty sarcasm is sometimes replaced by a more childish approach of shouting and acting out scenes on stage. It has a more 'child aimed' feel to it.
This review seems to be overly negative and I'm sure you are wondering how I have given it a 7 based on this – and not a 1! At the end of the day Michael is hilarious, he comes across as such a likable guy and tells us stories that has us in stitches laughing. There are many memorable gags and plenty of laugh out loud moments. I just feel that he has changed certain areas of his style for this tour and I don't feel it was needed. If it's not broke, don't fix it! His first stand up could well have had a negative effect on his future tours (in a rather strange, backwards way) as it set the bar so high that even Michael himself is struggling to reach it now!

I really like Michael McKintyre and I was really looking forward to this but I have never been so disappointed. When he first started to become popular he was genuinely hilarious, his live and laughing and live at the Apollo routines will always be remembered as genius comedy. However I turned this one off after a few minutes because almost every other word seemed to be the F word. Why he feels it is necessary to do this is beyond me as he can be really funny, but he has now alienated a large part of his original fan base with this type of so called adult material. He is also becoming a parody of himself and seems to have resorted to shouting more, this becomes grating after a while. If he could get back to the genius comedian that he was then he may win me back, but based on this performance he has lost me and no doubt many others.
