From the first episode onward, this series got my attention. It's original, deals with a powerful subject (suicide), has excellent characters, and the comedy is hysterical in places you'd least expect. This series held nothing back, it covered sex, obsession, death, inward thoughts, depression, jokes, conflicts and a cop (one of the directors), who you'd probably think is on meth the entire time. The finale, while having not a large audience, left a major cliff hanger to a mystery that was throughout the 10 episodes: Who the heck is that cop, anyways?
There are not that many people that watch shows like these with the assumption that "bird poop" is a sign of a bad series, but these people usually tend to stick with pathetic, uneducated, unoriginal TV shows like Honey boo-boo.

i've just finished the season and sad to find it didn't had a 2nd- what the hell happened??? i found it to b weird, funny and a really good drama (that Miller is a piece of work)the actors are good and the story lines r interesting...its a nice insight to life after,
i don't wanna give away any of the show but along the episodes u find each of the character's suicide story while discovering new things on Miller - i think he is the weirdest-craziest-scary and even touching character... Krysten Ritter proves she's great.
i think i'll look up now why is this been cancelled;
anyway even tough it is brutally cut at the end - u should see it :)

Wake up... plez bring this stellar cast and amazing writers back and continue their stories. We need more "not status quo" tv programs, we desperately crave more original content and relatable characters. I was hooked after the first episode, and just like a good book l could not stop watching. l was amazed and awed by the cast chemistry, the fluidity of the humor peppered through it. l am a suicide survivor and can appreciate that finally someone has written an honest and definitely insightful and unadultrated perspective many suicidal's actually believe and experience. Plez bring this amazing show back and continue the healing and education...we so desperately need it in today's world - even 10 years later the show content is timeless!
As soon as the first episode starts you cannot be helped for thinking you are watching one of those God awful day time amercian soaps. The sets are bad, the filming is bad, the actors are bad and thats not just due to the script being bad. I nearly gave up about 5 minutes in, but a gratuatous "night, night kitty" arse shot bought them a while longer. When its bad, it really has nothing going for it, but at times I found myself thinking of one of those dreary Cronenberg films like "Spiders" or the one with the rabbits. But unfortunately I do not mean this to be seen as a positive, because Cronenberg only gets away with it because of some of the excellent films he has made. IMDb lists this program as a comedy / drama. In my opinion the comedy is not funny and the drama less than dramatic. Avoid it, it cant possibly last.
I thought this was a great show about a band of no longer suicidal misfits. I love that broken people can fix themselves and find ways to fit with others who also feel out of place in this world.
It took me a second to get used to the way it's shot but something about it adds to the feeling that you're peeking into a part of people's lives that you're not supposed to see. There are definitely absurdest topics and jokes (see all sex scenes with the character Jorge and many of Miller's lines) but it just added another thing to look forward to in each new episode.
I'm probably biased because I identify with a lot of the sentiments on the show and the dark parts that it explored are rarely brought to life.
I am so p!ssed that it is now gone and there is another show that leaves me with lifelong questions as to the fate of beloved characters. Damn you Starz! Can we at least get a mini series or 2 hour wrap up or something?
