I enjoyed the show very much. I hope they make a second season. The lead actor does a great job of creating.a believable although very depressed main character.
The dialogue is fairly snappy and keeps things moving along.
My only complaint is that the main character tends to wallow a bit-in self-pity,
But when the science-fiction aspect of the show kicks in some of the things that happen earlier in the season, make more sense.
Worth watching.

This was so fresh and unpredictable. This is the kind of new ideas Hollywood needs. AMC has great instincts for new points of view. I hope there'll be a new season. I want to know where the writer takes all of these rich, funny characters! The older generation of actors do a beautiful job of holding the show down. And the younger actors are a fun new find!
This show was very funny, with a fun plot & great messaging. It's not your typical sci-fi episodic, it has great substance but doesn't feel too serious or heavy. They did a phenomenal job with this gem of a movie & Martin is HILARIOUS!!! Really enjoyed the series; great performances, fun sci-if story with meaning & purpose while keeping you engaged & excited. I only wish it got picked up for a 2nd season.
Black culture at it's finest. The actor who plays Demascus brings instant appeal as a highly relatable and intelligent black man. Demascus represents those black geniuses who don't put on the suit and who don't put on an act for others. He lives in his own universe where code switching is unnecessary. His friends are interesting and Uncle 40, played by Martin Lawrence is an absolute gem.

The show was incredibly creative and absolutely hilarious! I found myself laughing out loud throughout every episode. The writing is clever, the humor is sharp, and the storytelling is refreshingly original. The Thanksgiving episode was definitely my favorite-brilliantly written and performed! I loved seeing Martin Lawrence and Lynn Whitfield together again. The entire cast is super talented and brings so much depth and energy to their roles-I loved how they could switch it up and be completely different characters. I genuinely hope more people discover this gem of a series so we get the chance to see what reality Demascus is truly in. Fingers crossed for another season!

- QuizIt was announced in January 2023 that AMC cancelled this series (about a black man attempting self-discovery through digital therapy) while it was in the middle of production. It was cancelled alongside a handful of other TV shows (Moonhaven, 61st Street, Invitation to a Bonfire) that AMC Networks was scrapping as part of a major write-down to save the company $400 million in content production costs.
