Am a guy who tries to promote low budget but tightly written movies so that those buddy creators can get more audience. But this one failed to make me do so. I didnt refer this flick to any frnd. Why? Because it became boring.
Actors have tried to do justice to the script but script itself fails them.
Story itself was looking like a spoof of Stree but slowly as it progressed it became boring. And nothing was coming out of it.
Vfx was fine ill say. It had good moments. Actually i feel they coudve made it better but unnecessery plot points were there.
Riteish as Ghost Hunter coudve been good.
Guys avoid this, it is not worth your time. Makers please improve.

I watched this movie for the writer Avinash, as I watch his vlogs, thinking that the first creative break for a writer would be pregnant with promise.
This has been a disappointing effort which uses the trope of idiosyncratic villagers with an even more idiosyncratic ghost to deliver gags. I mean why does a dwarf ghost need a smaller door when there is a bigger door through which they can enter? Particularly when the ghost levitates high above the ground.
The ghost itself looks like it was sketched by someone while they were having diarrhea on a public bus being driving on potholed roads. None of the characters are likeable and the audience can't care any more for their fate than the ghost does.
For all its preachy dialogues about people tormenting those who are not normal, the ghost is more gentlemanly in not attacking the woman who holds him while the ghost hunter removes the one thing that is powerful for the ghost. That only tells me that humans are far more violent than even ghosts, but even this aspect was not built upon.
I was neither scared, nor tickled by this tale which has at its core a violent society that condemns those who are abnormal to a fate that is otherwise delivered by a death that visits before consummation of desires - the fate of a disembodied ghost that carries only desires, but unable to open the doors to their fulfillment.

The movie is upright copy of STREE (relating a horror folklore of a village past incident), with a different yet stupid background story about the ghost. No creative brain whatsoever has been applied while writing the script that evidently displays throughout the storyline. Even the ending traces have been tried-copied by showing the return of the ghost similar to what Stree had, but in a very predictable manner. The quality of humour delivered is deliberate and at point seems unnecessary. The end product is outright waste of time, money and efforts, for both sides - production staff and viewers.
I am thoroughly disappointed, particularly with Sonakshi Sinha's performance. Her acting lacked depth and authenticity, and her forced, unconvincing accent detracted from the character's believability. It's baffling why filmmakers cast her in a role demanding more skill, especially when there are many talented actresses from small series and independent films. This decision feels like blatant nepotism. It's high time the industry stops promoting mediocre actors due to family connections and instead offers opportunities to those who have honed their craft through hard work. Investing in acting workshops would be a better alternative. Kukuda could have been much more with a capable lead actress. Sonakshi's poor acting skills and fake accent were significant detractors, making the film difficult to enjoy. Let's hope future projects make more thoughtful casting choices and nurture real talent.
Nowadays Horror-Comedy Genre is improving a lot and grabbing attentions of young audiences. With such type of experiments 'Kakuda' came in the OTT platform directly with no such hypes and promotions. Riteish Deshmukh & Sonakshi Sinha also back with their new avatars with some fresh face actors.
The plot is quite fresh and interesting. It's initial build up was quite brilliant and grabbed our attention but suddenly it became flat and again paced up with it's plot reveal. The comic timing of main as well as side characters was good and Riteish Deshmukh with his new style is looking great. Horror part was totally missing here especially Kakuda's character was extremely a joke, indeed they could have added some special effects and special powers attached with that character and they should definitely go for some jump scare scenes to make it more interesting. The comedy part was also mediocre I'll say ; so it's a kind of mixture between sloppy horror comedy.
Overall a totally 2hrs timepass movie and safe to watch with family. 5 Out of 10 Stars from my side.
