I have watched Basic Psych three times. The first was the most suspenseful. It captures you from the very beginning. As not to ruin the movie's suspenseful drama, I will not provide my second and third time comments. Although I will say that each time I watched, I learned something new. The character development between the patient and the psychiatrist was exceptional. I enjoyed watching the scenes of Pittsburgh and the reference to the Pittsburgh Glass Factory Center. It's a wonderful movie that leads to a great dinner or evening conversation afterwards with friends. Basic Psych is a must-see at least twice!
This is a fabulous thriller with a very unexpected ending. It is well written and marvelously acted. I really thought I had this one figured out but boy was I wrong. And, it is rare that movie endings satisfy me. This ending was just perfect and well thought out.
The cinematography was beautiful, and we loved and enjoyed the great Pittsburgh scenes. The casting was thoughtful with actors and actresses realistically portraying the characters.
I almost never want to see a movie more than once; however, I can't wait to see this one again. It kept me absolutely enthralled the entire time.
Well done!!

Basic Psych is a terrifically suspenseful and entertaining movie! Character-driven and tightly paced, it culminates in an ending that will knock your socks off.
As it follows the increasingly unsettling relationship between a psychiatrist and his potentially dangerous patient, Basic Psych ratchets up the anxiety, especially when the psychiatrist's family seems at risk. Scenes are artfully staged with interesting angles and lighting. Superlative acting by Pittsburgh (Swissvale) native David Conrad and two-time Tony Award winner Michael Cerveris elevates the tension and tone of this cleverly conceived puzzler.

A movie that will capture your attention from the get go and will keep you fully engaged to the end. Lots of twists and turns and a surprise ending, which few among us watching, guessed correctly!!
It is a psychological thriller, set in the world of a psychiatrist and his patient. Well directed and acted, this feels like this could be happening to people you know or to people you could encounter in your daily life.
Written by Jim Tucker and directed by Melissa Martin with strong performances by Michael Cerevis, Cotter Smith and David Conrad, this movie is one of the better movies I have seen this year.

I really enjoyed this psychological thriller! Good insight into therapy and how it works (or doesn't) very realistic, great acting, and the ending was such a surprise. Great job of the character development and realistic plot development.
I attended this showing with several friends, and we were all speechless as the movie ended. We excitedly reviewed the clues, the red herrings, and had quite a few different opinions. A film that generates this much discussion after the viewing has value as a thriller. It also had such a twist at the end that was so artfully done.
I need to see this film again to follow the plot more closely.
