Déjàvu , despite hearing to so much of mixed reviews , went ahead watching this thriller lead by Arulnithi , Madhoo and Achyuth Kumar . Truly speaking the movie was quite enjoyable inspite of few screenplay flaws . Arulnithi is probably the best fit for this kind of role and shows all signs of matured level of acting understanding the need of the director . More miles to go for him to get even closer to the top row heroes though . But way too better in performance when compared to his coUSin. The Chinna Chinna Aasai Roja girl Madhoo looks a bit aged here and gives an average performance. As a cop, the body language could have been better, good that it didn't tamper the movie experience . Achyuth kumar does a very good job and ensures his share of contribution really proves worthy to the movie . Kaali Venkat is seen more often these days in prominent roles and really does everything to make his role notable with his acting . Nothing to specifically mention about music , cinematography etc . All filled as required . It was a good attempt on probably a unique story line and the plot handled, was majorly interesting. Director though messed a bit towards end making things go little haywire . Still can be excused and to proceed with the movie . Overall Déjàvu, a good movie happened again ! .

A crime novelist complaint to police that his fiction characters are disturbing him...soon police realised that his words are TRUE and starts to investigate.. Atlast the truth revealed behind all mysteries.. Screenplay good but not great... One time watchable...!

It's a wow to entertain us in the Tamil industry as this is quite unusual to risk with these kind of script.

The bigges will never pick this and the new comers won't give us such an entertainment. Arulnidhi who picks he scripts with super thrill has provided one more good.

I like this plot and there are emotional outputs on the script which one way will always be the expectations from Tamil audience. The story gears up on the first frame itself and no way deviating with the usual comedy, romance and songs. I was happy seeing the hero introduced after 30th minute. That's a great inclusion and out of the usual formula.

The 1st half was very pacy and the same gear was not flowing in the 2nd half. As the emotions and flashbacks slowed the plot and many would not like that so....

The movie is filled with Arulnidhi and Achyuth for almost 75 minutes. Yes it is interesting and there are lot of breakthroughs and suspense elements.

We can enjoy throughout and ending scenes are not possible in the real life scenario but as a movie I accept it.

Movie has its problems in some plot holes and continuity. But overall the movie is thrilling and unpredictable almost till the half of third act. Could have been better but being a small movie they have done a good jobe. Worth a watch and good to see a good plot.

The movie had decent story and twist elements in it. The casting also good, but something totally messed up in the presentation. The title and the Deja Vu factor supposed to be used brilliantly, but ended up as a big thud. When the flow reveals the twist, the Deja Vu factor supposed to be a exclaiming one, but ended up cheating of the viewers. At-least they should have avoided this title.

Sometimes the dubbing and camera work reminds the serial drama making and it adds biggest minus point to the movie flow. We are Ok to forgive the logical flaw in making and story, but the cheating factor killed the interest of the movie.

Neat crime thriller movie with different concept and ended with some twists. Screenplay is engaging. Arulnithi Rocks. Ghibraan Background score was perfect.

Very engaging and excellent investigation thriller. Climax is so unexpected and stunning twist. Kudos to director, Arul & team. Well narrated and edited screenplay. Very emotional subject. Must watch for thriller lovers.

Good movie it's very interesting till few minutes before climax, the climax is dull not believable . All actors did good job nice to see madhu after long time. Arulnithi has good personality but he did not look good in flash back as boyfriend otherwise he has this very manly personality. Over all the movie is entertaining.

Great Movie One time watchable since it is thriller. It is based in the book which written by a writer and same characters coming into life and moving around the writer kind of supernatural ans suppense thriller with investigation elements.

The story line is great but the execution falters big way. The editing could have been much better with every character repeating what is happening on the screen. It seems the Director literally took what he has written with little concern to visual treatment. Could have been made much better.

A different movie, starts with mystery. That novel writer acted really good and natural. First half was quite interesting, but when the truth is revealed, there is no logic in how they portrayed the dejavu effect. Madhubala could have performed better. Screenplay was really good, Arulnithi acting never disappoint us. But, lot of unanswered questions like how the writer could write a story of a real incident that happened in 2013 before it happened, like that constable said?

The first half was great, engaged me well, was fast enough so as to not get bored, and was slow enough that it didn't move from event to event unneccesarily.

The first half of the 2nd half was ok, used some gimmicks like tracking this, and tracking that, sending this and that, but still was gripping enough...............

the last 30 mins though....... one thing few movies do is to explain each and every bit of the mystery, so the viewer can understand how much work and thought the crew put into the plot, but they miss the point, mystery movies are suppose to engage the audience, not hold hands and walk through each and everybit of the plan, and many scenes just repeat themselves, once in main film(police imagining) and again explaining..... unneccessary drag.

And the last twist wasn't even a surprise.

final verdict: yes, ok watch it, atleast you'll get 90 mins of a good film! Even that is v good in these days.

Definitely, a good thriller with loads of suspense elements and the twist in the climax was although predictable was still convincing enough and the confusion that stayed throughout the film of guessing the protagonist & antagonist was engaging enough to keep you guessing till the very end and even though if you would've predicted it, the film still convinces by mixing it up with a different group of people also doing the same thing, it was a definitely a decent enough twist that convinces with your time spent well on the guessing part + some more twists.

Although the film travels & tries to keep us engaged, it still feels like being dragged in some portions and the content itself was very old, nothing new was presented here except the screenplay part which kept us guessing, still, there could've been much more improvements done to make the overall film even better but that opportunity was missed.

I highly recommend this to anyone interested in investigative crime movies. There is meticulous detail put into this film. The movie has the right stuff going for it in terms of overall acting, direction, sound-effects and photography. The editing is superb and is one of the fast-cut type of editing. The film itself is fast-paced. Though you have to pay close attention to the opening half-hour to see where this masterpiece is headed.

After watching the movie till the conclusion, I was not surprised at how much heart was put into this film. The film addresses issues prevalent in India. All of humanity's vices are shown here expertly by the director. Also yet another example of a circumstantial film and one that follows the rule for every action there is...

The plot of the film concerns a man, Subramani, who walks in apparently drunk, into a police station claiming he has been receiving death threats by phone because of a book he has written showing the perpetration of a crime. He believes the killer in his book is the one making the phone calls. The police take him lightly, but his complaint is lodged. Soon a phone call arrives by a woman that claims the writer Subramani was involved in her kidnapping.

Subramani is then arrested and a sequence of events soon follows that will lead to a terrifying conclusion.

I would highly recommend this one for your viewing.

Unveiling the mystery of Dejavu was our curiosity and that's what kept us going till the end. The film, in of itself, had a tremendous capacity to be wonderful, howeverrrrr...the weak acting and main theme deflated it

---How on earth does an author write about actual events taking place???😃

This question got us hooked on the scenario from start to finish. Subramani (Achyuth Kumar) would take a piece of paper and start writing about things that were happening concurrently, intriguing!

-The last 20 minutes or so of Dejavu were the most interesting. The director peeled off the mysteries in a captivating way and the additional characters introduced amazed us (no spoiler intended 😉)

BLAND

---Poor acting among the cast greatly impacted the flow of the story. Vikram, the detective, sustained the same tedious expression during the time of investigation that it became boring. The supporting actors didn't even step up to fill the void

-Music score sounded quite loud and too heroic

-Dejavu touched on the usual theme of vengeance; though we didn't know who the perpetrators were and what was going on with the author's stories, we weren't blown away when the truth was exposed because it was a 'déjà vu'

Very good movie. There are lag at certain places, but still good thriller movie to watch out. Arulnithi does the character to perfection, they could have opted someone else in place of Madhubala for that cop role and Achyuth kumar does well. Climax was little predictable and expected as we have seen it in most of the movies.

Good story..though expected plot.. but editing is a disaster..madhu bala face was looking like photo shop in some scenes..enlarged face .. Arul nidhi has performed very well as always..

My honest review, this movie is by far the worst thriller movie I have seen in years. Underwhelming screenplay, mokka story, horrible acting and predictable twists. Camera and music was good!

Request to the director and Arulnithi, please stop making movies and find another profession. Engalaale mudila swami vitrunga, pls!

Guys, I am very regular in watching thriller movies.. I know how should be the thriller movie... I won't watch the movies by seeing ratings.. But I rate the movie genuinely after watching it.. This movie really creates interesting from the starting and thrills us till the end. Very good execution and tight screenplay.. Meaningful story.. I really enjoyed.. And it's absolutely true.. Must watch.

A fantastic story with proper twists and turns is spoiled by the ambiguous screenplay, sluggish acting, and poor production. However, it's still worth watching.
