And I thought the Rambo movies were far fetched...
Finland, 1944. Old gold prospector Aatami (Jorma Tommila) finds a large quantity of the precious metal but a small company of occupying German soldiers soon steal it off him. However our hero is a former commando who is a "One man death squad with over 300 Russian kills." He wants his gold back and there's no stopping this one man army! Despite being shot at by machine guns - even a tank - Aatami is obviously immune to bullets. He can also stay under water for incredible periods of time, survives being hung, he even gets up after being in a big 'plane crash from great height! Think Rambo crossed with Machete and Jason Vorhees! I thought that the Rambo movies were far fetched but they look quite realistic in comparison, it gets sillier and more unbelievable as it goes on. The Germans all speak fluent English but some of their accents are definitely not German. The movie was shot in Lapland and the scenery is stunning. Despite being BBFC rated 15 this movie is ultra violent with gore galore, should satisfy most splatter fans. Aatami doesn't speak until the end of the movie, this gives him a degree of mystique and I assume that the moral of the story is in life just don't give up. Great advice, it's just a shame that this film is too silly to be taken seriously. Should have been better but still entertaining none the less.
