My wife and I were looking for a nice, clean movie and came across this one streaming on Prime. It pretty much follows the Hallmark formula but was actually filmed where it is set, in Versailles, Kentucky, a town of about 10,000 population. Some of the dialog is cheesy and some of the adult ladies act a bit too much like teenagers trying to facilitate a love connection, but aside from those detractions it is an entertaining movie.
Galadriel Stineman is Dr. Adele Clark, a busy surgeon in "the city", which might refer to either Louisville or Lexington, each a short drive away from her hometown, Versailles. Her dad had recently been elected Mayor so she drove back for the event, a few days early to help with preparations.
As fate and script would have it, the town has a handsome, single town doctor. That is Aaron Mees as Dr. Grant Matthews. In his back story he joined the Army after medical school and his connection with the injured overseas influenced his choice to be a family practice doctor. Plus, he is gradually converting a vacant older building into a surgical center and Adele might be a perfect candidate, if she wanted to leave the big city.
And, a nice bonus that drives the story is the two doctors seem to develop a strong attraction for each other in a very short time.
The progress of the story and its resolution are pretty predictable, which isn't all bad, and it is fun to see how they get there.
Entertaining movie.

7.2 stars.
A bit on the slow side, however, I really like the lead actors. The male actor seems quite methodical and deliberate in his acting style. He doesn't have a whole lot of emotion going on there. That's OK I'm not here for the men. The female I've seen in a few movies she's always great. She has great facial expressions and a lot of personality.
The plot was quite formulaic. Nothing new to see here. A female surgeon comes home to her small town where she meets and falls in love with the town doctor. Come to find out she knew him when they were in high school, but not very well. He was that "scrawny" brother of one of her acquaintances. Now he is this town's most eligible Dr. Bachelor.
You can guess how the story goes. Will she come back home permanently to practice medicine with her new love interest, or set aside her feelings to pursue her dreams of being an illustrious surgeon in the big city? No mystery, of course it has a happy ending, they always do.

Unfortunately this was a very long, boring and predictable movie.
The acting was also pretty mediocre, so even it went from bad to worse.
And this is supposed to include the life of a doctor , but the producer did nothing at all to even validate the medical aspects of this Hallmark type movie or maybe Lifetime movie.
However, it was a movie of this genre, which I didn't expect on Amazon Prime.
I can't believe I sadly wasted an evening watching it.
I kept watching to see if it might get any better; however, it only got worse.
I gave it 2 stars because the actors were attractive.
Save yourself and don't bother watching.

Having read the other reviews I think it is best summed up as being not as good as boring !
There is an obvious predictably about this type of film, and one can accept that, however it was awfully cringy. Predictable is okay but when coupled with cringy it truly sends it into, " I wish I had done something else for an hour and a half." No doubt there will be some folks that just love the story for the story and they will consider it 86 minutes well spent. I watched this at Christmas/New Year time when a bit of smaltz is often what is looked for and is in some way acceptable. Perhaps there should be a seasonal recommendation endorsement on films of this nature, who knows it may encourage more viewers.
Ba humbug !

One word: BORING!
Honestly, that was the point of making that movie? The only explanation to me is that the main actors wanted to participate and to see themselves as actors. No plot, no suspense, nothing. Just a couple, which obviously was hitting on each other, wanted to waste my time witnessing their utterly pointless and flat dialogue.... Oh, Lord, have mercy on me.
The only thing that could improve the movie, would be the sudden twist and let's say the main character to die, being slaughtered by a Predator.
I am halfway through the movie and as there is no hope of any improvement, I am switching this thing OFF.
Horrible experience!

- BlooperAfter the accident, Grant is unconscious with a bump on his head. The two doctors and two paramedics on the scene all allow him to get up without stabilizing his neck. This would never happen without further evaluation.
