I have been under the weather the last couple of days and this was the "light" viewing I needed. It's a show about people finding some of the coolest vacation rentals out there. But these reviewers are savage. Yes they are rich and successful, get over it, yeah most people could probably never afford some of this places. But that's why it's called escapism. But the hosts really are friends you can tell that for sure. And some of these place are awesome and I could afford to go to on my next vaca if I wanted even on my little budget.
Three uppity influencers visit some pretty cool places and babble non-stop about how "gorgeous" and "amazing" everything is. I love travel shows and seeing really interesting places, but this show sucks. Who the heck are these people anyway? Why should I care what their opinions are? Apparently they're "experts" but they never really do anything to show it. There's nothing informative or entertaining about them. The places they visit are cool but I don't need 3 rando's cackling and going on about how cool it is. I can see that. Tell me something interesting! Show me you're an expert. Inform me! If you wanna see some cool places just watch it on mute.
I totally understand the majority of reviews complaining about the hosts way OTT excitable nature, but it's honestly a really easy watch and an addictive show. Don't get me wrong, some of the locations are far too expensive for your normal average Jo, but for someone like me who's a passionate traveller and loves seeing the world, it certainly inspires you and makes you want to travel more. I was pausing it, Googling quiet a few places a number of times. It's nothing ground breaking and the hosts are a little annoying, but for some of the locations being so spectacular, it's well worth a watch.
Well I kind of enjoyed the show, but why is it mainly in the US? Lots of other fantastic places in the world I would have loved to see. And the title did suggest.
But what really bugs me about the show is how disrespectful the hosts are to the homes they visit (for free) They never take their shoes off! Not even when they visited the famous Glass house, we saw Luis put his feet up - with shoes - in the Mies van der Rohe Barcelona bed. REALLY??? That annoyed me so much!

I have to admit I mostly watched the show because I'm a fan of Megan Batoon.
While I really enjoyed the episodes, I felt like the 10-ish minutes spent per rental was too little. I would have liked to hear the hosts discuss or tell the viewers about the facts instead of having to read it on screen while something else was happening. I also would have liked to hear or see more about what options of activities or sights there are nearby. I guess I just wanted to be more informative beyond "this is the location and this is what it looks like".
I think the chosen locations and rentals were great, especially the variety of them, and I really liked the hosts. The difference in the hosts background made for interesting perspectives on the rentals (sometimes more than others, though). It was beautifully filmed as well.
