All of This Unreal Time

Liked so many things about this piece of work. Watched it twice. Sound and no sound. The dialog is incredible; especially if you remember going to confession as a kid.

Watching it without sound was a gorgeous treat. I believe I would have enjoyed the background sound, with the images much more.

The cinematography is stunning and Cillian Murphy's brogue accents the subtleness or a kettle ready to blow. Best enjoyed seated in darkness allowing the images and speech to absorb the room.

Sending to all my friends who aren't alcoholics. Too much of a trigger for early sobriety. Those still at it will go on a binge.

This short is a meaningful and deep piece of writing by the amazing Max Porter, interpreted by Oscar Winner (and you always know why watching his talent unfold) Cillian Murphy, beautifully shot by Aoife McArdle and scored by the experience music that only the incredible Aaron and Bryce Dessner can create. They shot it in London during covid at night and in a way you can feel the oppressive atmosphere. It's an apology, a love letter, a confession, a start point for a new life, a reflection on human nature. Its specificity makes it universal and applicable to all, it gets under your skin. Must watch!

Oh boy, oh boy! I loved this, and not only because of featuring the brilliant Cillian Murphy with his pronounced Irish accent, neither entirely for its beautiful soundscape and direction, but for the touching and mesmerizing script written by Max Porter whom I have to definitely read more of.
