The Mopes

I stumbled on this show on HBO Max and ended up binging all six episodes. I liked it a lot. Very creative with some interesting world building. Thumbs up to the writer.

Very well written and acted out series. Very thought provoking and relatable in many ways. Would love to see a second season and see Monika help another lost soul.

Dyslexia Trigger Warning: As a native German speaker I really like the main actress Nora Tschirna as a human, her acting is sometimes a bit callous, maybe a bit Berlin style, direct and funny/sweat at the same time, it's only not really my taste, sometimes in this specific role for example there is so much defensive irony and distance. Whatever I really appreciate "The Mopes" ambition to show mental issues in a cool and fresh way. It's just that as a huge fantasy, Tolkien nerd its really hard to accept a world like harry potter where there is reality and this fuzzy magic unnatural stuff. I like my universes coherent. It's high fantasy, Tolkien stuff or its our world, a mix of both worlds as in The Mopes or Harry Potter. Ok, this is really subjective, but I saw all this cool Bristish looking clothe and instantly thought it would be something about The Mods this English subculture. The main actor wearing this Harrigton jacket under his. Coat the hair of Nora. Whatever its highly subjective, I will give the second episode a try this evening.
