I had forgotten that Guinan had actually met Picard back on the TNG show when he had traveled into the past. This is a massive plot hole that writers should have not missed and only explanation is maybe the future alteration by Q changed the past by creating an alternate timeline or universe.
I have still have no idea if this season will pay off, so far things aren't going anywhere fast. Sucks when you watch a couple hours and it seems to be going nowhere. The first two episodes had more going on. Limited ideas it seems like, stretching out to an entire season.
Still this is a million times better than Discovery, that show is unwatchable. Yeah this episode had a bit too much obvious political things in it but not so bad as DIscovery, that show made me feel sick to watch it, that show felt like it was made only for the .01% of the far left.
Also, if you don't want to have a "Wait! What?" moment, better forget that you ever watched TNG Season 5 finale and Season 6 opener Episodes, titled Time's Arrow. If you never watched those, so much the better to enjoy Picard S2E4...
I am referring to an extremely important moment that could have been written completely differently to acknowledge events in Time's Arrow. No idea why they opted to go the way they did with it. It would have changed nothing of what happened with that meeting in S2E4 and might have even made it better.
I do enjoy the in-jokes, though, as in reversing the outcome of the brief boom-box bus scene from The Voyage Home...
Don't you wish you had a transporter whenever the cops are after you?
And now they're just recasting characters I mean are we that dumb?
I am so sick and tired of all the politics thrown in the show that's just supposed to be for entertainment.

- QuizKirk R. Thatcher: as "Mohawk Punk," listening to a boombox on the bus that Seven and Raffi are riding, and appears to be an older version of the same character he played in Rotta verso la Terra (1986). The song he's listening to ("I Still Hate You") is a newer version (possibly sequel) of "I Hate You" from ST4:TVH, with slightly different lyrics: "35 years later and nothing much has changed...". Kirk Thatcher was an Associate Producer on ST4:TVH, wrote and sang both songs. He also played a similar character in Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017).
- BlooperRaffi and Seven take a bus to get to the LAPD station. In Assimilation (2022), Raffi robs the mugger and is shown removing a wad of bills from his wallet and stuffing them in her pocket as Seven shows up.

Dr. Agnes Jurati: My friends are in trouble. I really need the transporters fully functioning, and you can think faster than I can type. So, please, can I trust you to help?
Borg Queen: Beware the species that has not yet purged that word. They're simply begging to be conquered.
Dr. Agnes Jurati: Help?
Borg Queen: Trust.
