You Will Love The Character 'Parvez Alam'

What a gripping political drama it is. Unexpectedly better than the first season with some top notch performances especially by Huma Qureshi. What a talent she is. Soham Shah and Amit Sial as Lalu Prasad Yadav and Nitish Kumar are too involved in their characters that you'd think that the entire history of Bihar had come on screen with no impartiality to any character with a pinch of excogitation and creativity. A perfect blend of castes and religions based politics that revolves around a family and an outsider and how they manipulate the people of Bihar to either remain in power or come into the power. I loved the role of Kalpana as well who I think has played the role of Prashant Kishore who helped Nitish dethrone the long running horse of Yadavs family at the behest of the Vajpayee Government in the centre. A must watch series. It's definitely 8+ so far for me.

I liked it, way better than the superficial Tandav. Some good performances and an engaging storyline. Watch it, doesn't disappoint.

I am not at all a fan of political dramas. In fact, since i kinda hate politics and not even interested in this topic, i keep myself away from these political web series as i find them boring. However, MAHARANI turned out to be an absolute out of the blue surprise for me!

This series is basically inspired by the life of former CM of Bihar, Rabri Devi and how an illiterate underdog in politics realizes that not only is she up against opposition but also against the dirt in her own party with shocking revelations towards the climax.

The series is 10 episode long and not one episode i found to be dull. Every sequence has something interesting going on or something that adds value to the story, i was rarely bored. Remember, this series is heavily fictionalized so do not dare compare the events with real life Bihar Politics although there are similarities (If you do start comparing, then you are bound to say stuff like "Wrong info showcased", "Trying to show a corrupt party in Bihar" and so on and you wont be any different from the ones getting offended by Family Man S2) . In order to avoid Bihar audience from getting offended, they have changed names and events and even their sequence. Dialogues are really witty for the first time I enjoyed politicians throwing witty tantrums at each other and it's a treat to watch.

Right from the lead to the last named cast, everyone gives a terrific performance. Huma as Rani never shows signs that she immediately grasps everything as soon as she becomes CM, instead she gradually learns which is great to watch. Others like Amit Sial, Sohum Shah steal the show it seems Amit Sial was born to play the role of a wicked looking opposition (He probably represented Nitish Kumar here). Inaamulhaq was already my favorite actor the day i first saw him in "Airlift" and here he plays an honest bengali officer whose bengali is quite hilarious to hear as well as entertaining and a very humble role.

Some cliches and bizzare moments that mark the negative points of this series but i chose to ignore them.

10 episodes, well I could not binge watch (cuz of my own personal work load) but never missed an opportunity to watch it whenever i was free and managed to complete it in 2 days and for the first time i throroughly enjoyed a political drama just because of an interesting screenplay and terrific performances. I reiterate my point, do not compare it with real politics, treat it like a fictional story that is only inspired by (but does not fully represent) Bihar politics. Trust me, you wont get an opportunity then to criticize the show for wrong info.

Political aspect of Bihar depicted in excellent way. Thrill and suspense will keep you glued till last episode.

Every actor played their role beyond their capabilities.

It's a brilliant political thriller with superb story and acting from Sohum Shah and Amit Sial. A good watch. Sony LIV never disappoints!

This show is not slow and will keep you watching all in a go. Huma qureshi did acting to her potential, but still i found it average. The supporting casting is too good and makes you watch it to the end. A huge applaud to Amit Sial, Sohum Shah, Atul Tiwari, Mohd Ashiq, Pramod Pathak and the junior actors who amazing did their part. Otherwise it would have been a flop show.

The script is awesome and based on 99's Bihar politics with some artificial tweaks and turns. Its a must watch.

A friend suggested this TV series , had no expectations but after binging the whole series Loved it so much especially season 2. Strong screenplay, Plot and powerful Characters. Struggle for Power,Love,Deceit,intrigues, The ending kept me wanting for more, its probably the best TV series of the year ,kept me on the edge of the seat till the end ,everyone acted brilliantly especially loved the female protagonist Rani Bharati,can't wait to see more Television series or web series of the similar kind in the near future from other OTT platforms and production house ,its more like Indian version of GOT ,eagerly waiting for season 3.

The story rightly outline the portrait of caste system and misuse of political power in the country. All the actors in series are perfect.

This is mainly Huma Qurwshi all over the serise. Other supporting roles have acted well too. Story moves on well and some suspense element is also added well.

While this is fiction, there is a typical Secular characters. An honest office from minority and upper class villains. That's too typical and overused formula. Also it glorifies the Nazals or communist terrorists. Subtle agenda I guess.

Nothing remarkable but a one time watch. At the end you may just remember Huma's acting (finally she could).

Maharani is a scintillating political thriller with an Incredible story and specially the performances by the cast was phenomenal. Sohum Shah, Huma Qureshi, Amit Sial were natural. A good watch. SonyLIV is adding its content in top tier, kudos to the team. Its been a long time since India released a good political drama, this one fits the shoes perfectly. Also, bihar is the perfect location for a political drama/thriller.. as the reallife events in bihar is no more than any masala movie.

If you want to baselessly hate upper castes and shamelessly support the corrupt lalu rabri govt of past who pushed bihar into the dark ages of caste war corruption. This series is for you.

In this webseries director succeeds in capturing sole of bihar and its politics.

Mass murders, uneducated female cm, major dispersion in party, a yogic criminal guru, reality of bureaucracy, elections , media etc etc.

This has is all . Really a worth watching 👍🏻

Overall all episodes are great except 2-3 which went a little boring and where they show that they have to forcefully pick CM for meeting everytime. Huma resisting from going out was just irritating for a while but hands down a masterpiece.

If you start series and seen huma qureshi performance that's mind blowing all cast done super job.

Just finished season 2. Huma Qureshi nailed it. No Indian actress could have done that role in such a way. What a actor she is. In the negative side of the season 2,the series slowed down in middle. But Huma nailed it. The middle 2-3 episode could have written differently. And one thing I find it odd that a political drama suddenly turns into a murder mystery. May be this was needed but investigation of murder mystery should have started early in the screenplay and in between other political drama scene should have been there. Then audience would not have feel like watching a totally different web series of murder mystery. The last scene gives me goosebumps. Can't wait for the season 3. This is real bollywood.

Season 1 was pretty good yet i wasnt too sure if i even wanted to watch season 2 and i dont want mince any words here "IT WAS EPIC". I liked sacred games, asur, pataal lok, aranyak as well they r thrillers as well but when u go and watch these series u already know they r meant to be thrilling due their premise but here on a well known indian political scenario, when someone can give u such mind twisting plot. Its just unbelievable.

Hats off to the makers and sonyliv as they once again lives upto the expectations after Scam seaon 1.

Eagerly waiting for season 3. I just hope u keep making such amazing stuff.

Maharani is a drama show directed by ravindra gautam.

Huma qureshi has given a splendid performance. She held the accent pretty well this time. Amit sial is one of my fav performers and he does not disappoint. Sohum shah too does a brilliant job. The writing is extremely good. In the last few episodes, the way the story incorporates shakespeare's julius caesar is very good. The cinematography is beautiful. You should definitely check this show out if you already haven't. I rate it 9.5 out of 10.

Good story with interesting political turns and plots there are many political stories but to present it in a political way is a art which the makers have created

Character were accurately designated and were played brilliantly..huma banged on her role with her get up and language ..hats off..amit and Soham are versatile actors and the director took out 100% of them..rest all actors were played their role in the required way

The series is of 10 episodes as this kind of subject demands and pace is also reasonable with good background score but in some episodes the subject was lagging,got slow,went off beat,huma was not on screen,unwanted scenes etc

Just see this series as simple political drama and do not relate with any politician then you can enjoy this on weekend.

One of the masterscripts. Each and every character was casted with a real actor/actress. Every character did exceptional work and their efforts could be easily seen in their flawless performances. Maharani, Kaveri, bhima, Navin and all the actors and director together made it a masterpiece.

You can't get up once you start watching this, it holds you completely.

The best thing about the series is that it didn't end like all the web series nowadays follow.
