Well..... Well.... Well.... What an absolute masterpiece if writing, direction, cinematography and acting.... Some of Icelands finest involved in the this terrific series that swings from the blackest of comidies to utter despair and tragedy... I totally binged this show until 4am as i couldn't possibly leave it behind. The drone shots are amazing and specifically captured at the right moments when nature truly does it's thing. The tears are real, the laughter bursting. The sound design for me was spit int.. Placed and put together at not only the right tempo amd emotion, but volume also... Happy to say no GOT drums here.. Really fabulous, thanks to everyone involved.

Thies series is absolutely gem. Unknown actors create very spectacular and colourfull personages, plot is absolutely crazy in good way, like in "Fargo". Soundtrack is perfect, operator work - superb. And this all based on real facts :D.

What a beautiful series this is considering it recalls such a dreadful real life event that destroyed a community. Sometimes the pure pace of a show draws you in and makes you feel like you are involved. Every part of this is just so perfectly put together.......... From the cast to the script,,,the wardrobe,cinematography are just wonderful. The music that some of us grew up with just sits right, and the score is really spot on. .......I do so hope the creators of this can follow through with many series of real life events, a bit like Fargo. Sooooooo good. MORE MORE MORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am an American who spent some time in Iceland 24 years ago. I love the island and the culture. Recently I watched the entire series of Blackport on the Icelandair flights to and from Chicago-Copenhagen.

I don't like American TV or movies much anymore, but this series is perfect. I wish I could provide a synopsis, but I cannot.

You will get to know Harpa, the hero-villainess of the story whose character is sympathetically written and very well acted. Other characters are Jon, Einar, Grimur, Freydis, Tinna, Saeunn, Smari the journalist, Gunny, and many others.

You learn the passion and sometimes brutality of the fishing industry. You see politics and money, and joy, and sadness. Betrayal is a major theme. It takes place in the 1980s to early 1990s.

Watch for the scene where the drunken friends throw fish at each other! Bless Bless.

Fun series. Acting could be better and fewer gimmicks Very realistic and well researched journal about corruption in politics and business in Iceland. Many good historical occurance in the 80's in Iceland.
