Had potential, but I have seen TV movies better than this.

Two Twisted Tales Collide in a Gothic Dreamscape-Haunting Atmosphere, Rushed Twists, and Shaky Cam Woes

Sinner (2009) struts in as a gothic psychological thriller, blending Hitchcockian suspense with Argento-inspired weirdness, but stumbles under its own lofty ambitions. Its dual narratives intrigue, with strange characters and eerie château settings drenched in haunting chiaroscuro lighting. The atmosphere is rich and unsettling, but the plot, misses chances to enthrall and reel in, leaving you more confused than captivated.

Robert Englund, ever the horror stalwart, gives a respectable performance, though this is far from his finest hour. The rest of the cast wavers between terror and bafflement-possibly mirroring the audience's feelings. Direction swings between moments of brilliance, with iconic shots, and head-scratching choices, like the overuse of shaky cam.

And the ending? Rushed, forced, and lacking the slow-burn chills it so desperately needed. While Sinner flirts with greatness, it ultimately settles for being a stylish, atmospheric oddity. Worth a watch if your queue is empty or you're a sucker for gothic weirdness, but don't expect a masterpiece.

Pitiful

NIGHT OF THE SINNER is a B-movie horror flick from Italy, shot in the beautiful Umbra region of the countryside, which is really the only thing this has going for it. I'm a massive fan of the heyday of Italian horror but this pitiful, zero budget production takes the biscuit in every respect. The story follows a young blonde agent who's sent to interview a reclusive prince in his castle, so shades of DRACULA, but very little happens of note other than a mild gore scene or two. The main actress gives a wooden performance and seems to have been chosen for her willingness to disrobe more than anything else, while Robert Englund is on autopilot.

Not so nice

This is not a real review, it should be taken more as a collection of impressions on the film.

The film begins in a somewhat strange but still interesting way and then manages with the diary stuff to make the viewer really anxious and not make it clear which of the two is right and then it also manages to give a good ending, so why does the film Is it that mediocre? Well certainly because the acting is very lackluster and also because the film loses a lot by distracting the viewer and making him very bored in many parts of the film, so the film is nice but does not exceed a lackluster sufficiency.
