My boyfriend thought we should watch this film on date night, and I really enjoyed it. It kicks off with the crew exploring a haunted mansion in a found footage kind of way but it switches to "Normal film" in quite a clever way. Honestly it reminded me of older horror films.
The film is about two groups of youtubers who visit an asylum that is about to be knocked down, I know, right! No spoilers but its not what you think. Although the characters were a bit thin I did feel sorry for Danny! The twist and the action in the final part of the film blew me away, it was non stop and kept me wondering what was going to happen.

There was one positive thing about Night Explorers: the location. Shot at Revesby Abbey, it features cool architecture and creepy corridors.
The story, the acting were all horrible: no believable characters, no believable choices. I spent a lot of time saying, Come on.
For example, the Ghost Hunter-types are actually receiving messages from their Spirit Box and they're celebrating. The messages are things like "Get Out" and "There is evil here." So, if they think this is real, wouldn't they heed the warning or, at the very least, be concerned?
Beware of any film with an extended party scene. Toward the beginning, the "party" lasts at least 5 minutes, just enough to pad the running time to full-length. It adds nothing of value. The characters are set to film an extremely important investigation the next day, yet they get wasted the night before?
Time has no meaning. The characters are two hours away from the site. Repeatedly, they say, We'll leave first thing in the morning. They arrive at dusk.
This was a complete waste of time. Aside from the Abbey, there's nothing redeeming. I appreciate the attempt to explain the "paranormal" activity but... none of it worked for me.

I'm honestly impressed, another review on this movie made it sound like it was going to be an absolute disaster and I just cannot agree whatsoever with that sentiment. This movie is pretty solidly done. The acting is decent, maybe a couple people weren't quite as good as others but they are by no means bad any of them. The score is good, it does a good job of keeping the tension and matching the scenes. The lighting is good, the special effects are pretty good, the story is just as good as many movies of this genre. It kept me interested to the end, I was connected to some of the characters and was concerned for them. I would watch a movie made by the same studio and I'd look out for some of these actors in the future. I really enjoyed this movie overall and recommend at least giving it a try.
This movie stinks to high heaven. First of all, the acting is non-existent. These so called "actors" are amateurs at best and if they got paid to be in this movie, the producers were nuts.
Very early on some overweight guy in a bad beard tickles a girl in a blue pajama set. She laughs maniacally. Only one problem: he doesnt even touch her!
And that's the kind of movie this is. HORRIBLE.
The story line is absurdly unoriginal. It's been done a million times before and better.
The directing is poor. Clearly the director is yet another amateur with a hand held camera.
Frankly I was bored out of my mind.

You know your movie is bad when people root for your entire main cast to die. The movie isn't even bad cause its low budget. It's just BAD. The characters are so bad that its laughable at times. Like everytime someone pounds on a door you're going to ask yourself who taught these people to open doors. The script is ROUGH. Like some of the worst dialog i've heard in a horror movie. There's one character who trips, screams and gets knocked out throughout the movie and you will actively root for them to die. I'm not exaggerating. This character is useless. Some of the most non-sensical decisions I've ever seen made by the entire cast of main characters. By the end of the movie you will actively want each of them to die. Avoid at all cost. Watched for free and still wish I could get a refund for the time wasted.
