An Old-Fashioned Farce

A farce written, produced and directed by actor, director and screenwriter Willy Rozier, who however does not play any of the main roles, in which Louis Blanche and Fernande Albany (a veteran who worked with Georges Méliès, notably in Le Voyage à Travers de L'impossible, from 1904) stand out.

The script is fun, very much in keeping with the taste of the time, with enough mistakes and twists to please the audience. The direction leaves a little to be desired. The film lacks rhythm and the copy deserved a restoration. Both in image and sound.

In sum, a comedy in the style of the 1930s, for those who appreciate these true time capsules, like me.
