I've seen this movie together with my friends on our weekly DVD-evening session and we all really liked it! I have to admit I was on my toes especially for a non US production. It's one that gets better and better as the movie goes. It keeps you wondering and there is pretty much no foreshadowing at all. In horror fan is going to love the use of music and sound effects in the movie. Take note of the lack of dialogue in the movie, yet how much emotion is conveyed. I'm sorry it wasn't any beautiful American actors carrying the film. It was brilliant music, sound effects and editing. Welcome to the world of supernatural Horror Thriller. Less is more... I really didn't know what was going to happen from minute to minute. The overall twist and turns... yeah it's a definite popcorn lights off cuddle with your girlfriend scary movie.

i really liked the movie! the first time i saw it was at the international Cairo film festival. the atmosphere in the cinema was intent. the people around me were scared every minute! the actors were good. the music and sound design created a great suspense. But the cinematography where blasting me away. never seen such remarkable angles. plus a special work of color correction where putting it together. the director did excellent work on his first movie. from the beginning on the audience is riveted on the story because it's unforeseeable how the story ends. i would recommend it to people who like to have goosebumps:D!

I wanted to write a review for this movie mostly because there seems to be a gap between its rating and the reviewer rating. With an average rating of 4 (at time this was written) I expected a very bad movie.

But what can I say; if I could summarize it would be this: More than just a horror flick, this movie is a GREAT thriller.

It does give you goosebumps all the time, so you end up just not knowing what to expect. It was very well directed, the photography is great and the soundtrack was so incredibly well chosen!

But the title does have its downs, which focus mostly in the somewhat predictable story line and linear characters and lack of any depth in anything whatsoever. This does not have to be an entirely bad thing for it does give a mystical sense of being out of touch with reality. If you accept these deliberate unexpected choices to portray unexpectedness you might be able to enjoy this movie at its fullest.

A great choice if you a horror movie fan, or someone that can accept its limitations.

PS: Another downside is that its original audio is in German so for those who can't understand it, subtitles will be needed.
