The museum is in need of a new night guard as Larry has got an new job at Tokya Museum and Larry's son Nick is given the job offer to take over as new night guard. Now, Nick is still a boy too scared to fight his self doubt and he his pit against Kahmunrah returning from the last film along with the daddy issues. Plus, they get to travel to ancient Egypt this time and it is upto Nick to find his confidence back on time to bring everybody back to the museum safe.
The film offers nothing new, mainly because I am not the target audience for this animated feature unlike the live-action trilogy. I did chuckle at couple of lines but that was about it. Largely aimed at kids only, I guess it's serves the purpose of giving basic entertainment as it doesn't try anything more. The lines are as pedestrian as a cartoon show might get and the screenplay is extremely convenient.

I have not seen the past 3 Night of the Museum movies in a while, but I do remember them being good movies and having some fun with them. Night at the Museum: Kahmunrah Rises Again (2022) is the 4th movie in this series, and I thought it was just ok.
The animation in the movie is not that bad, and it looks nice. The voice acting is fine, and the characters are the same as the other movies, just with standard personalities that are there to move the average plot along.
The main villain is the same as the earlier movies but not interesting. The movie is kid friendly and keeps things safe without doing something different and interesting like the other 3 movies.
Kids will like Night at the Museum: Kahmunrah Rises Again (2022) for the animation and the characters in the movie that connect to the other movies. I thought this movie was ok but anything outstanding or worth giving yourself time to see.

What is going on with Disney lately that their sequels to well-liked and respected franchises seem to have no effort put into them?
Willow and National Treasure we're so painful to watch that I couldn't get through the first episodes, and now Night at the Museum has a similar effect, forcing me to turn it off barely ten minutes into the movie.
It doesn't fit into the continuity of the three films, and all the characters are either stupid or mean spirited for some reason.
The way they get Larry's son to be the new night watchman is beyond lazy and uninspired, and essentially makes is hate all of the characters that we know and love.
I think this is the last straw for Disney plus and it's time to unsubscribe.

I found out about this movie from my brother. And I started watching this hopeful that this would at lest have some good things with it.
But just as I hoped that it didn't do, it ruined a great franchise.
Why does Disney have to ruin everything?
I have seen some reviews here saying the CGI is good, and yes it can seam amazing at first, until you realize it was made in 2022.
The story seams to have been set after the 3rd movie, but there is a ton of stuff that is just plain wrong, and is just disappointing for them to mess up.
Here are some of them:
I am mad and disappointed at the existence of this horrible movie.

Here are some of them:
- Wasn't Nick going to College?
- Didn't Larry become a teacher?
- Why is Kahmunrah in New York?
- Where did the basement stuff come from?
- Didn't Dr. McPhee know they were alive?
- Why are they bullies to everyone who's not Larry or Nick?
- Why is the tablet in New York?

Disney owns 20th Century Fox now, and they are intent on making every possible penny they can. Watching the beginning of this I was totally lost. How did the tablet of Akmenrah get back to New York City permanently? It was decided by the characters that it should stay in London at the end of the third one! If you are trying to argue and say that Tilly the London night guard brought it back, that was only temporary. Why are the characters bullies in the movie, Watch the first few minutes and see how they traumatize a random night guard on purpose just because he's not Larry.
When does this film take place? It doesn't take place after the third, because the third one ended with Larry retiring from night guarding and becoming a professor. Also, Nick, his son, was considering college in the previous one, but now, he's presumably back in high school? Also, wasn't Kahmunrah sent to the underworld? Who made another wax mannequin of him? Why isn't Akmenrah in this despite the "legal disputes" of the actor. That shouldn't be an excuse, Owen Wilson isn't playing Jedidiah in this one as well as Ben Stiller in this.
Just call this a reboot, because it literally makes no sense. I got bored after the first 25 minutes. It's a far step down from the third one, which successfully ended the trilogy and was my personal favorite. Way to go Disney, you ruined another franchise.
