Decent reality show once given a chance. It began rather slowly, but most do. If you're a true reality tv show watcher, you'll know that most of them don't really pick up momentum until half-way the season. And, they typically don't find their mojo, if ever, until the 2nd to 3rd season. It's much like over 80% of most tv shows. The best seasons are typically around the 3rd season but almost always not the 1st. Nonetheless, I found the show rather interesting and inspiring, and I especially like the fact that they showcase the ladies' careers and talents and some of what the city of Jackson has to offer. There's much room for improvement if they are allowed to further develop the show and allow the ladies to find their place in it.
As for all of them not being millionaires, I believe at least two are. So, that falls squarely in line with nearly EVERY Housewives franchise ever made. Out of 6 or 7 housewives, only one or two are actually houseWIVES and the rest are ex-girlfriends (not ex-wives) of former/retired pro athletes/rising pro athletes, etc. As for the show being too scripted, isn't that the case of every reality show on tv today? It's just that some of the participants are better actors than others...the better the actor, the less scripted it appears. It's for entertainment purposes only. All of them are. But, judging from the countless reality tv shows out there today (many of which have gone several seasons), it goes without saying that each were given a chance. So, let's do the same for this show and see where it takes us.

I'm not a reality show fan, but I did watch this because I live in the area. I enjoy your they present the city and highlight some of its good qualities. As for the show itself, it's your typical reality. If you love this genre of TV then you will love this show. The women get your attention. The conflicts they find themselves in are a bit shallow and childish, but that's "reality" TV for you. I hope that the show succeeds since it is located in an area that rarely gets TV time. I will continue to support it for the greater good, but I do think that reality TV fans would be happy with this.
My main issue with this show was Kaylon. Do you see how easy it was for her to infiltrate the show and come after a woman of color? That was the most infuriating thing about this show. Now Marie I love her. However she needs to learn how not to react to everything. There are ways to go about it without coming off like the stereotypical angry black woman. Latrice you do a lot of mean girl stuff and expect no repercussions. Now I love how your husband is with you. You can tell he genuinely loves you. But honey that talking about folks and snickering with your friends about it is very childish. Now Dr. Liles I will call her that. She earned that title. But that victim role you was playing is not it honey. Then to state you never experienced racism. I almost threw my remote at the tv. White ppl look for ppl like you to say see there is no racism. Hell Kaylon played you like a fiddle and you still don't realize it. As for Leteisha I so love her through and through. She knew how to keep it G and classy at the same time. What she did not do was allow the other ladies to down talk Marie. She respected the loyalty Marie has shown her and reciprocated it. Marie also was so open about the ups and down about her relationship with her husband. I love them both. They are still making it happen together. And finally the one that had to grow on me the bubbly Tambra. She too kept it 100 about her choices in life. So all in all I think the show is great. It even makes Mississippi looks livable. Even though I would never live there. Because truly where they live is a real small part of the big state of Mississippi. Mississippi still call ppl boy and gal .
Belles shouldn't have to be "bleeped". I know many true MS Belles (black and white) that should have been filmed. I'd bet they could even teach Oprah a thing or two. Or twelve. Shame.
This is one of the worst things I've seen on tv in a while, I'm actually upset that I wasted more than 5 minutes watching this debacle. I'm pretty sure this is fake but if not God please help us all, this is a complete disaster. This show should be on the Cartoon Network between 2 am- 2:15am with about 14 minutes in commercials. I certainly hope they can find something else with substance to replace this embarrassment on the OWN Network, people certainly deserve better. The only spoiler would be if someone renewed it for even one more episode - Straight to the Garbage.
