An intelectual search of evilness by comfronting the author.
A real case where punishment was used to release the peoples tension.
We all know what happened 7 years later with these "normal" people.
The entire film breathes a disgusting understanding for a serial killer, which alone makes it difficult to bear.
It is completely different in films like "The Silence of the Lambs", in which the criminal is not the victim of an "evil society", but rather society must be protected from him, which is the factual truth.
The dialogues are incredibly boring and low IQ and also unspeakably slow. It feels like one word per second!
After an hour and a half of strudel dough, which I could only endure in fast forward, finally the trial begins.
The camera work and the entire filmmaking craft are already a complete desaster, but then the mask is fully dropped and the pure communist face is revealed: "Do we want to become like him and condemn, or do we want to understand?" says the off-screen speaker.
The climax is expected to be the defense attorney's speech.
But there are only two low(est) IQ sentences: "He is mentally ill and must not be convicted." (the beloved favorite trick of the left to subvert civil society, as if one and the same person had not committed the crimes, while for the normal citizen, if he drives drunk, it is seen as an aggravating factor...).
Protect the ones they sympathize with...
And the god-hater also like to dig up God, when it fits their narrative: 2nd sentence: "If he is convicted, then God have mercy on us."
Two sentences from the defense. That's all.
There is no more intellectual scope for this piece of work.
After the conviction, there is immediately another typically left-wing projection taking place: The defense attorney's parents seem to have critcized him, so they obviosuly are very bad "reactionaries" and he disavows them (another favorite mantra of unloved kids who later become left-wing: society bad, parents bad, family bad, church bad, alphas bad, biology bad, mathematics bad - fringe groups good!).
So overall an incredibly bad movie from the point of craftsmanship, and the subtext is pure leftist subversion.
