I Survived a Crime

Do you own what ever generic editing software that came with your computer? Do you know how to google stock footage? Did you take any 101 journalism class at a community college? Then you too could produce a crappy Facebook streaming style clip compilation show! Seriously this show is just awful. Everything about seems like it was made on iMovie not even iMovie pro. Crappy "grainy" filters put on every viral video to the point where just googling the videos yourself would be better. The natural disaster shows that used to air on Spike TV back in the 90's from VHS tapes had better quality. The host's dialog is strained and clunky. The video interviews he does with survivors is wickedly cringy. If you're going to waste any portion of your life mindlessly viewing viral crime clips just do it on IG or Facebook and save yourself from this eyesore.

I love this show! It's documents every day people who have survived brutal attacks from ruthless, thug-like, selfish criminals. The show also shows people standing up and helping these survivors out at their most vulnerable time of need, which is polarizing and beautiful given the context of the show.

My only beef with this show is that the last 4 episodes are recaps which just feels redundant because why show us what we just watched? Other than that, it's a great real-life survival show!

A great aspect of this show is that all of the crimes detailed have live footage to back up and don't rely on re-enactments. Some of the videos are quite wild and astounding. The formula for each episode is mostly filler though sometimes good interviews of first hand accounts. Each video is replayed and rewound about ten times which can be annoying. Could definitely fit more clips into each episode.

Now this section is dedicated to IMDb. I'm making this a very, very, very, very long review because of the new rule established for review character length, courtesy of the IMDb staff. I'm glad to report that you can absolutely trust that this review is credible and relevant based solely on the fact that it contains at least 600 characters.

I am not suprised that this show did only 1 season. Adding background noises to try and "match" what was going on was just Ridiculous, we do not need all that added noise, we know whats going on. Also, not having the cases resolved before being aired on tv, does not allow for a fully finished product. I know she is fighting for her life, do not disrespect it, By adding fake rustling noises. The noise, if there is any, from the actual cctv is more than enough. I hated having to pause, so I could go look up the namr of the suspect and see if ut was resolved. All around, not put together properly.
