Canadian actress Jasmine Mooney has spoken out about her detention by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (Ice) officials while attempting to renew her work visa. Mooney, known for her roles in American Pie Presents: The Book of Love, Kid Cannabis, Loudermilk, and iZombie, was held for nearly two weeks in what she described as “inhumane” conditions after crossing the U.S.-Mexico border on March 3.

Mooney attempted to enter the U.S. at the San Diego border, where her lawyer is based, in order to process her visa renewal. Instead of being allowed entry or returned to Mexico, she was taken into custody and detained at the privately operated Otay Mesa Detention Center. Speaking to San Diego outlet Kgtv, Mooney described the conditions as harsh and dehumanizing.

Seven more entries in the American Pie series are getting fresh Blu-ray releases – including a 4K release for American Pie 2.

The American Pie franchise is to be the beneficiary of fresh physical media releases in the UK, thanks to 88 Films. The label has already brough the original film to 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray, and now it’s got plans for all the others as well.

Let’s do the theatrical sequels first.

On 19th May 2025, American Pie 2 is coming to 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray. It’s arriving in a pack that includes a Blu-ray as well, one that’s carrying over a copious amount of extra features from previous releases. The 4K transfer is brand new, though. You can find more information on the release, and order yourself a copy, here.

Then, there are deluxe Blu-ray editions of the further two cinematically-released films.

As much as we all like to joke about Skyrim‘s various re-releases, the fact of the matter is that there are only a few video games ever made that could be released that many times and still tempt you to play them again. Well, a big part of the reason why it’s so easy to return to Skyrim time and time again is the game’s quests are so good.

Although Chinese New Year 2021 is only two months behind us, new Chinese blockbusters have already begun plotting their takeover of the biggest moviegoing week in the world’s largest film market for 2022.

Four Chinese titles have just announced their plans to debut next Feb. 1, the first day of the 2022 lunar new year. The most high-profile new release announced Friday is former racecar driver and literary bad boy Han Han’s next film, whose Chinese name translates to “The Four Seas.” Two of the four films will star Shen Teng.

This will be the third Chinese new year release for Han, following 2017’s “Duckweed,” which grossed $152 million, and “Pegasus” in 2019, which grossed $256 million. It will star Liu Haoran, Liu Haocun, Shen Teng, Yin Zheng, Zhou Qi, Zhang Youhao, Qiao Shan, Feng Shaofeng, Wang Yanlin and Gao Huayang, and feature special appearances from Huang Xiaoming, Chen Xiaochun, Wan Ziliang and Wu Yanshu.

Jayson Warner Smith, who played Gavin on “The Walking Dead,” has joined the film adaptation of Delia Owens’ bestselling novel “Where the Crawdads Sing,” TheWrap has learned exclusively.

Dustin Diamond, who gained youthful fame as the nerdy Samuel “Screech” Powers on TV’s Saved by the Bell, died today in a Florida hospital, just weeks after revealing he was battling stage 4 cancer. He was 44.

Diamond’s agent confirmed the actor’s death.

“We are saddened to confirm of Dustin Diamond’s passing on Monday, February 1st, 2021 due to carcinoma,” his reps at Roger Paul Inc. said in a statement. “He was diagnosed with this brutal, relentless form of malignant cancer only three weeks ago. In that time, it managed to spread rapidly throughout his system; the only mercy it exhibited was its sharp and swift execution. Dustin did not suffer. He did not have to lie submerged in pain. Macau’s architectural heritage is showcased in a new photographic exhibition, Experience Macao Cinematic Style. It is timed to coincide with the opening today of the 3rd edition of the International Film Festival and Awards Macao.

Organized by the Macao Government Tourism Office, the exhibition includes pictures taken by a 15-strong mix of professional photographers and key opinion leaders from neighboring Hong Kong. It includes a mix of stills photos, 360-degree images and drone photography.

Jessica Biel couldn't be more proud of her husband, Justin Timberlake.

The 34-year-old actress stopped by The Tonight Show on Thursday and couldn't help but gush over Timberlake's first Oscar nomination.

"Can you believe it? That's so amazing," she told host Jimmy Fallon. "I really just think he deserves it."

Timberlake, along with Max Martin and Karl Johan Schuster, earned a Best Original Song nomination for "Can't Stop the Feeling" off the Trolls soundtrack.

"It's such a good song," she continued. "It's a song that obviously makes everyone so happy and it's so worldwide. He deserves it. I hope he wins."

Biel, who gave birth to the couple's son, Silas, in April 2015, also revealed that she has mastered new skills as a parent.

When you’re a parent, you fit in the daily essentials where you can — and Jessica Biel is no exception.

The 34-year-old actress stopped by The Tonight Show Thursday, and spoke to Jimmy Fallon about one specific skill she has become adept at since welcoming son Silas Randall, now 22 months: eating in the shower.

“This is just mom life,” Biel tells Fallon when he brings out a print of an Instagram photo she shared in September, showing a set of dishes resting on a ledge in her shower. “I don’t know if anybody else does this, I don’t have time for anything.

Often times, if two movies are less than $1 million apart when the box office estimates are released, those movies will swap places when the actual numbers arrive on Monday. Last weekend, it looked like Rogue One would repeat atop the box office with $21.9 million, with the expanding Hidden Figures following just behind with $21.8 million. When the actual figures were released on Monday, Hidden Figures ended up on top with $22.8 million, just ahead of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story with $22.06 million. This weekend, Hidden Figures managed to expand even further, repeating atop the box office for the second weekend in a row with $20.4 million, in a weekend where two more expanding movies didn't even crack the top 10.

This year’s award season continues to yield a robust specialized bounty. The Oscar contenders are led by “La La Land” (Lionsgate) and “Hidden Figures” (20th Century Fox). The public, particularly older audiences, are coming out in big numbers for films that launched in limited release.

That doesn’t extend to new limited openings, with nearly all top distributors holding back until the awards noise dies down. Still, a few are venturing out with smaller less heralded films in New York (along with a plethora of Video on Demand releases). This week sees three of note, led by a very surprising total for “World’s Apart” (Cinema Libre), an under-the-radar 2015 Greek economic crisis drama.

Jessica Biel‘s son Silas Randall is only 21 months old right now, but the actress says he already has quite the personality.

“He’s definitely very charming,” Biel, 34, told E! News Wednesday at the Los Angeles premiere of her drama The Book of Love.

She continues, “He’s full of beans, and yeah … he probably does .”

Biel, who attended the premiere with husband Justin Timberlake by her side, says she’d rather their son not get into the entertainment business.

No surprises here -- Justin Timberlake definitely knows how to woo a woman.

Timberlake's wife, Jessica Biel, appeared on The Late Late Show With James Corden on Thursday, where she dished about the early days of her romance with the 35-year-old A-list singer.

"We didn't kiss for a very long time because he was on tour, and we were talking on the phone, like normal pre-teens do," Biel shared. "We were just chatting on the phone for hours. So, we never really kissed for a very long time."

However, when yesterday's actual figures were released, both movies flip-flopped, with Hidden Figures actually winning with $22.8 million, just ahead of Rogue One with $22.06 million. This weekend, both Hidden Figures and Rogue One will go up against three new movies, Paramount's Monster Trucks, Stx Entertainment's The Bye Bye Man and Open Road Films' Sleepless. There are also three movies expanding with Warner Bros.' Live By Night, Lionsgate's Patriots Day and Paramount's Silence all going nationwide as well. While it may certainly be another very close weekend, with six new movies hitting theaters, we're predicting that Monster Trucks comes out on top with $22.6 million, with Patriots Day following closely behind with $20.8 million.
