NBC might be starting a new trend after reviving multiple popular shows from USA Network's past. After recently giving Suits a new offshoot in the form of Suits LA, it has since been reported that Royal Pains will also be revived by NBC.

Now, actor Bruce Campbell has suggested that Burn Noticeshould be next on NBC's list of USA Network shows to reboot. Nostalgia seems to be all the rage at Peacock and NBC with the Suits spinoff Suits LA and the recent announcement that Mark Feuerstein will reprise his role as Dr. Henry “Hank Lawson” in a Royal Pains reboot. Both Psych and Monk have seen steady success on streaming throughout the years. Psych ran from 2006 to 2014 and starred James Roday Rodriguez and Dulé Hill. Per Deadline, NBC is reviving Royal Painswith original star Mark Feuerstein set to reprise his role as Dr. Henry "Hank" Lawson. Feuerstein is also on board as an executive producer for the project. The new series is said to be set several years after the original show's finale, which aired in 2016. It will pick up wiht Hank "searching for a new purpose in life, about to embark on his biggest project yet." No other plot details or cast members have been confirmed.

The original Royal Pains was created by Andrew Lenchewski and John P. Rogers. The show followed Hank Lawson, an expert diagnostic surgeon who works as a concierge doctor to the uber rich in the Hamptons.

Dr. Hank Lawson is scrubbing up again, as a “Royal Pains” reboot starring Mark Feuerstein is in development at NBC, Variety has confirmed.

The original series, which ran on the USA Network from 2009 to 2016, followed a former New York ER doctor who moves to the Hamptons to open a concierge practice targeting the ultra-rich. In the reboot, which takes place several years later, Hank is “searching for a new purpose in life” and is “about to embark on his biggest project yet.”

“Royal Pains” co-creator Andrew Lenchewski and executive producer Michael Rauch will write the new series, and they will serve as EPs alongside Feuerstein and original series alum Rich Frank. The reboot hails from UCP, a division of Universal Studio Group, and will air on NBC, should it get picked up to series.

“Royal Pains” starred Paulo Costanzo, Reshma Shetty, Jill Flint, Campbell Scott and Brooke D’Orsay, among others.

Royal Pains has a pulse after all: NBC is developing a revival of the USA Network medical dramedy, according to our sister site Deadline, with star Mark Feuerstein returning to reprise his role.

Original co-creator Andrew Lenchewski will return as a writer and executive producer, along with Michael Rauch, who was a writer, director and EP on the original series. Besides Feuerstein, though, no original cast members are attached to return at this point.

Royal Pains co-creator Andrew Lenchewski and Michael Rauch, a writer and executive producer on the original, are writing a script and will executive produce as well.

Jeong will star and executive produce the single-camera comedy “How Can We Help,” a workplace ensemble set in the world of politics. Jeong is set to play newly elected congressman Jimmy Choi, a local stain-removal tycoon who takes office representing the 10th District of Boston. Bonnie Hammer, a legendary TV executive who has had a hand in popular programs ranging from “This Old House” and “Zoom” to “Monk” and “Mr. Robot,” plans to leave her role as vice chairman of NBCUniversal at the end of the year, according to two people familiar with the matter, exiting after the expiration of her current contract with the company.

Hammer has been with NBCU since 2004, when Universal Television, once part of Barry Diller’s entertainment empire, merged with the NBC portfolio. In all, she has spent around 50 years in the TV business, also working for Lifetime and Boston’s public-tv outlet Wgbh. At NBCU, she has helped orchestrate the merger of some of the company’s big TV production studio assets and worked on the launch of its Peacock streaming service.

While not surprising for a show called Evil, the entire season has been focused on a great, dark threat coming to New York City where the series is set. Perhaps it has arrived with a massive hurricane making landfall in the Big Apple providing a more natural than supernatural threat to the protagonists. Though the episode is called "How to Survive a Storm," one longtime character meets their end as the weather clears. Similarly, the show's central villain suffers a major defeat, in which a subtle victory might be hidden.

Michael Chiklis has played a lot of cops, but none like Agent Dominic Zulio in the MGM+ series Hotel Cocaine. Conversely, no one would ever have imagined former Royal Pains star Mark Feuerstein as drug-addicted hippie Burton Greenberg. Yet that's what makes their performances so interesting. Former USA Network drama “White Collar” was a basic-cable relic before it was added to the Netflix library on April 1, 2024. But like “Suits” before it, another USA drama that found new life when it wound up on Netflix, “White Collar” has since turned up on Nielsen’s Top 10 Streaming Overall (original and acquired series) list — twice.

“White Collar,” a Fox-produced show, has been on Hulu (because Disney’s Fox acquisition closed in 2019) since December 2018. But until Netflix nabbed the co-exclusive rights this spring, the series had never been a factor in streaming. The show, which ran from 2009-2014 on USA Network, was pretty much an afterthought. Just like “Suits.”

But now, like “Suits,” “White Collar” is getting a sequel series.
