Remember when it used to be sort of an "event" whenever a Call of Duty game came out every year? I can't help but feel like this franchise is becoming almost an obligation for consumers to get every year just so they can say they've gotten it. The development of this was known to have been a mess and it really shows, and the fact gnat it was developed during a global pandemic did it no favors. The zombies mode here is among the most bland and banal to date, I don't understand how the zombies mode seems to get worse with every installment. The campaign is pretty great though, and the story it tells is a fun ride that harkens back to the goodness of Black Ops and Black Ops 2, and throws in the cool surreal aspects of Black Ops 3. The voice actors being changed for no real reason is somewhat lame. The multiplayer is the same thing you've played before, nothing has changed.
Can this franchise please take a year off? If Assassins Creed can do it I don't see why Call of Duty can't. The series is becoming over saturated. Activision has devalued all of its other franchises to focus on this one and when one of these not only "disappoints" but outright flops, I cannot imagine the catastrophic result that'll have on the company. Then again, considering the workplace culture they have, maybe they need just this sort of reckoning to change.

I like how they brought back the 80's! This is one of the best call of Duty games along with Modern warfare 3 and Advanced warfare
I was bought this game for Christmas.... And thank god I was!
Campaign: the campaign for me is a 10/10. At first I thought it was ridiculous; tackling Iranian terrorists in Berlin, killing Russians in Vietnam, a Rambo type called 'Woods'. However, as I battled my way through the KGB's very-own 'any-town USA', 'Hit me With Your Best Shot' being blasted into my ears, I realised that maybe COD was just trying to have fun. I ended up in love with it. Did not like the ending though.
Multiplayer: the multiplayer I found to be a 6/10. It's a lot of fun and I find it to be a casual experience, (no toxicity as of yet) however it is plagued by in-app purchases. What, I want to go on the battlefield as Rambo dressed in a ghillie suit made of risotto or something? No thanks! Not payed a penny and I'm fine.
Zombies: I give this a 9/10. Must I explain? Dude. It's zombies.

It the story has an ominous mysterious tone and leaves off the story of the JFK assassination.(8/10)
I will give a parents guide to this,
This call of duty is worth the buy. I loved the multiple options in the single player campaign. I thought the campaign was the star here. It was great. In terms of age wise, this game knocks on the adult side. Some infrequent but strong language and some brutal violence. Minimum age 13, recommended 14. Not as violent as original blackops. Gunplay is fantastic and the multiplayer actually better than MW(2019). Multiplayer actually has moderate violence and if you are only doing multiplayer recommended age 12. If you want zombies(almost no one plays zombies) it is a bit more brutal and a minimum age of 14. It starts of scary and brutal but then you get magical guns and swords and then there is no blood and it gets very comical. This is worth the buy and a great game!
A very fun game, one of the best parts of Call of Duty, the development of the story was wonderful and one of the best stories in Call of Duty. The problem of the phase of the story was short, the zombie phase was very bad, the multiplayer game was amazing and I really enjoyed the game, I recommend buying the game.

- QuizJames C. Burns and Sam Worthington did not return to reprise the characters Frank Woods and Alex Mason, respectively. When asked why he didn't return, Burns said that Activision never asked him. As for Worthington, it was simply because he was busy with Avatar: Way of the Water (2022).
- BlooperMr. Hudson states that Perseus tried to steal an American atomic bomb from a fire base in Viet Nam. An atomic weapon of any type is a valuable strategic asset and it is extremely unlikely that the U.S.A. would keep such a device inside a conflict zone.
