I made it halfway through the episode and gave up. The new supporting cast is as weak as 3.2 beer. This is a pale imitation of the old show.
I Love murder mysteries, police procedurals and British murder Mysteries and the old CSI. So I Was excited to see a reboot of CSI Vegas... one of my favorite shows.
Super disappointed. I only gave it four points instead of 0 for the interest in how they solve the crime each week.
But zero stars for the protagonists. In the last episode, obnoxious Internet influencers were killing each other and I found it hard to tell the good guys from the bad guys. The main characters were as non-dimensional, arrogant, boring and one-sided as the criminals they were investigating.
Starting with the main boss. She is a poor woman's version of Oprah. Talks and looks like her and nags all her employees to death. Next, the two main young women. The largest Native American (Navajo) reservation in the world plus half dozen other Indian tribes are located near Vegas, and the only "diversity actress" they can find is a British Indian woman? So hard to believe! Her and the other hispanic woman seem indistinguishable, and they both have some type of relationship(?) with the eye candy investigator that is never explained.
Next the two men actors. The fact that he is super handsome does not excuse the fact that he has to be the most boring actor. Only The Asian American IT guy is, unbelievably, even more wooden and flat. The coroner? I still can't figure that one out. They seem to have a new one every week. The only positive normal interesting guy is the older man who quit his million dollar job as a scientist for a giant Dow type corporation to work as a common criminologist, a fact he boringly mentions half a dozen times each episode.
Helzgertrer (spelling), the only leftover from previous iteration of CSI, seems to pop up whenever with absolutely no rhyme or reason. She owns a casino, why is she back at work?
Earlier I mentioned that I love British mysterious. If u go into IMDB you will read that all the British actors have tons of education and training and it shows. Take a show like Vera, a middle age, grumpy, slumpy detective. She is100 times more interesting to watch than all the actors in this show combined.

Have watched 1st 6 episodes with high anticipation not having watched the original for quite a few years.
1st thoughts.... what is missing with this show? Characters don't feel right, script and dialogue don't feel right. Even returning Grissom and Sara seem off.
So I went back and started rewatching the original show. Oh, the original is so much better and for a show 21 years old it is so good and holds up so well.
Acting, script, filming style is just all so much better than new show.
Even though I was never fond of all the characters except for Grissom and Willows (Nick, Sara and Warrick never truly engaged me - especially Warrick and Sara) the dynamics all work brilliantly.
So getting back to new version, Grissom seems a parody of the old Grissom (and I am truly a fan of Peterson). The others just don't have the same chemistry with their interactions.
Verdict: maybe it will grow on me but I'm having much more enjoyment rewatching 1st 12 episodes of Season One.

In the pilot, Brass asks Sara whether she has a cure for Fuchs corneal disease. Stupid! There has been a cure for Fuchs since 1905 when Eduard Zim performed the 1st successful corneal transplant. Come on, y'all! Try a little harder.
Season 1 with Gill and Sarah and Hodges was OK. Didn't have the cohesiveness of the original CSI but Sarah did a great job keeping up. Petersen felt very reserved and distant from Sarah. The 2nd season somehow just fell flat even with Catherine back. Overall, good acting by Lex Medlin, Matt Lauria and Paula Newsome and returning character guests, Gill, Sarah, Hodges and Catherine.
I do wish that Mandeep Dhillon and Aruana Guerra would disappear. Dhillon is way too over the top with her constantly surprised wide eyes and attitude. Guerra is just not a comfortable nor eexy character. The show has none of the brilliance and magic of the original. Maybe we're all too old and tired.

Lo sapevi?
- QuizMatt Lauria, who plays Josh Folsom, is not a newcomer to the CSI franchise. He played Agent Matthew Pratt in Zippered (2011), Ms. Willows Regrets (2012) and Willows in the Wind (2012).
- BlooperThe writers admitted that they took some liberties, to make the show worth watching. CSIs don't really investigate crimes, or take part in interviews. They just collect and analyse evidence. And they do it all wearing booties and "bunny suits" - white a full body covering (inc a hood) to prevent cross contamination. The writers also cut out a lot of waiting around for results and fudged the science to keep things interesting. So the CSIs will often get results that would not be possible in real life. Leading to the "CSI Effect", where juries expect a mountain of forensic evidence for every crime.
