Frank Austen blows himself up working his gold mine and Fearless mistakenly fetches Slim Whitaker, who "would rather jump a claim than work one." When Austen's daughter shows up that afternoon looking for her father, can Fearless and handsome Keene Duncan expose Whitaker and prove her father's claim? Although the earlier entries in the Fear the Famous Police Dog Star shorts were produced with tongues in cheeks, by the time this one came along, they were mostly stolid melodramas in which people did stupid things because... well, if they behaved intelligently, sinister plots couldn't be solved in time. What this short has going for it is that Fearless is a handsome dog with some nice tricks, and the presence of Slim Whitaker, a reliable presence in more than 350 movies.
