Snappy dialogue, great street scenes of Dublin, and some interesting characters. Moves along and gets better as the seasons progress. Funny, sad, happy and a good watch. Don't believe the one and two star complaints by people who are shocked people drink, have sex! Oh my! Yes, lives get messy and people do not get along, deal with it! It's a tv show. But a good one. You'll see many actors who've appeared in multiple Irish and British shows. Nice to see them as different characters. Stick with it through the first season and you'll be rewarded. If you want to watch a fun show with some Irish wit pick Raw.
WOW!
Watched the first four series...I'm afraid to watch the fifth, because I know its the last season, and i can't bare it to end!
This is the best series that was ever on TV.
Love the setting, characters and acting!

At best its ok and something you can have on in the background and not really pay attention to. Being a former chef, yes the kitchens are pretty much like how they show it, egos, aggression, swearing, pretentious little people thinking they're something they're not..... it's a dying career for sure. The storylines are pretty weak, but in a small establishment like that they are anyway.
The bit that I find annoying is the added on background noise which you either notice or you don't. It's a street vehicle noise, but it's the same looping, heavy bass lorry driving past noise. If you listen to films with earphones in then the noise is more noticeable then just watching it on the tv and sitting across from it as it's all in your ears. More or less every time they are in the restaurant it is present and also other locations. Because it's the same low bass driving past noise it is really noticeable, if you don't know what I'm on about, put in good quality earphones and listen. Personally find it annoying and unnecessary. Yes it'a supposed to be by a road, but no way does the same lorry drive past it over and over again day and night.

Just what Ireland needs another show with an abundance of drunken buffoonery showcasing how the Irish people drink and drug too much, can't figure out how to get out of their own way, sleep around indiscriminately and are little more than obnoxious bores. Wow. If this wasn't written by the brits then it should be. I couldn't get past one single episode and I tried to watch four episodes before giving up completely. I have seen a number of shows like this and can't figure out if the Irish hate themselves or enjoy making themselves look like losers. Just painful to watch. Im shocked it lasted 5 seasons.
I love the characters and the storyline. I laughed, I cried, I cared about the characters.
