Recensioni in evidenza
This movie was sort of interesting in a way, but at the same time there was just something wrong with it.
The story told in "Triple Dog" is simple and easy to follow; a group of girls get together for a sleep-over and play a dare game, where they have to perform outrageous things. Now, something puzzles me, why would these girls group together at all, there is a lot of disharmony and animosity between several of the girls, so it makes no sense really. I could understand why Even and Liza hung out, as their mom's planned for them to do so, but some of the others, well that made no sense. Why hang out with people who you can't stand.
Some of the dares in the movie were actually clever and had me laughing, but some of them were a bit too outrageous as well, and I wonder who in their right mind would actually do such things, even when dared.
Bear in mind that this is a teenage movie, so the cast is almost entirely all teenagers. That being said, I actually think some of them pulled off their roles quite well. Scout Taylor-Compton (playing Liza) were the most memorable of the cast, as her character was the one with most personality. I am sure that Brittany Robertson (playing Chapin) is a good actress, but wow I really got ticked off at the way her character was behaving and talking. Note that there is profanity in the movie several times, so you might take that into consideration if you are easily offended. Emily Tennant (playing Sarah) also did a rather good job with her role.
Having seen the movie, I am sitting here with a sense of "was this movie really necessary?". It seems like a fairly weak plot to make a movie on. But at the same time, the way the girls interact and behave amongst each other, makes it somewhat worth it. But don't except a blockbuster and award-winning movie from "Triple Dog". For me, this movie is the type of movie you watch once and never again, it just doesn't have enough value in it for a second watching.
If for nothing else, then it was worth seeing it when you saw the girls with their shaved heads. A woman shaving off her hair is courageous, so hats off for that.

I don't know where the negatives are coming from, as this was a great movie. This film was very watchable, and very enjoyable. It wasn't a normal teen drama, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to watch, and it dealt with adult themes as well as teenage issues. I'll admit, it was very different from what I normally watch but I'm glad I watched it. There were some very funny moments, as well as some very human moments.
The actors did a great job, and never seemed false or wooden. They seemed as natural in the role of teenagers as I've seen really. Each of the main characters developed realistically over the course of the night portrayed in the film, anything more would be over the top.
I'm suspicious of the strongly negative user reviews saying that the acting was 'weak', and wonder about deliberately false reviews. The negative reviews couldn't be more wrong, and are probably designed just to sink the movie for cynical commercial reasons.

4.6 out of 10? This movie was so fresh and unique. The acting was strangely very good, and the depth to the plot was, for me, totally unexpected. When I rented this, I suspected I would be able to handle maybe half an hour before turning it off, but I was so wrong.
The director had very minute attention to detail and it really showed. I liked the way that the shots were framed and found the camera work to be near perfect. So yeah, maybe the ending wasn't a complete surprise but the way everything came together was what made this movie a hidden gem. I found the final 10 minutes to be genuinely authentic and emotional.
It's a shame this was marketed as a teen thriller with a silly title and DVD cover-work because it was much more like a psychological drama.

- This movie didn't start good, but turned out to be a better movie.
- Story is good with a small suspense in the end.
- Acting was good. Girl who played Chapin acted well.
- This is a kind of teen movie.
This actually sounded like it would be good when I read the summary on my cable menu, but it ain't! This is a horrific "movie". First off, I never understand why screenwriters decide to have teenagers talk like complete idiots in teen movies, this is something that has been going on since the late 1980's. The writers take the "lingo" too far and the characters end up sounding like Nimrods. Nobody talks the way these kids do 24/7. I was a teen in the late 1990's, and they did this then in teen movies too, you would think that they had learned something since 1999, but no. There was a point where you could watch teen clique movies and enjoy them, the movies from the 1970's through the early 1980's are actually quite decent. The characters in this one have no gut, no core, they aren't fleshed out at all. They make it so that you couldn't possibly care about a single one of them. If they all died you would just shrug your shoulders. There were just a bunch of people running around and you never got to know them. They were really stupid too, and I've never seen such a misfit group. The bad girl is so lame, sideways hat and skateboard included. She's a nasty little chump, but would be an absolute joke in some of the Chicago schools. The script was clearly thrown together, they tried to make this out to be some suspenseful thriller. Where at? This is the kind of film that they should make suspects watch over and over again, they'll give up the goods just to end the torture.
