If you loved the series...

I was a huge "Ed, Edd n Eddy" fan when I was younger. Now I'm much older and beyond these types of cartoon. But I still had to check out this movie for the nostalgia. I loved the show when I was younger, and enjoyed the movie quite a bit.

All the typical zaniness that you'd expect from the Eds and had seen in the television series, plus more, is present in the movie and very reasonably so.

The only thing I can really complain about was the ending, which I won't reveal. I think it seemed a bit rushed. Even though it's a cartoon, I see it as unrealistic, even in the AKA-Cartooniverse. The majority of people I have talked to about the movie saw no problem with it, though, so maybe I'm just too bitter.

Overall It was a nice little 90 minute trip back to my childhood. If you loved the series, you need to see this movie.

Ed, Edd n Eddy Big Picture Show; Amongst All Other Movies Ever to Exist.

The Great Ed, Edd n Eddy's Big Picture Show is literally Immense. The Greatest of All movies, and the last of their kind. No other movie will replace it not even shows of any channel will be able to compete with The Official Movie EVENT. The Ed, Edd n Eddy Big Picture Show is way more complex than any movie played on Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, Disney Channel, or any other channel to the viewers. (Ed, Edd n Eddy's Big Picture Show)Respectively deserves more than a review. Last of The Cartoon Cartoons, Last of The Fridays Shows and know the last of their kind. Cow & Chicken, I Am Weasel, Scooby Doo, Johnny Bravo, Dexter's Laboratory, Tom & Jerry, The PowerPuff Girls, The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy, Codename:Kids Next Door, Sameri Jack, Foster's Home for Imagenary Friends, Teen Titans, but only Ed, Edd n Eddy continued until the movie of which told it all. Absolutely no upcoming shows like Adventure Time & Generator Rex or The Regular Show. Ed, Edd n Eddy shall be missed and remember-ED.

Awesome movie, the humor and laughs we come to expect

I thought that this wouldn't be good since I thought that Ed, Edd and Eddy wouldn't make a good movie, but I was wrong. I laughed so hard the jokes and humor of the Eds. Looks like the series ends here, but it ends in an awesome way that everybody, including the fans, will be really satisfied. The movie has a great plot and its and adventure that stays true to the series. The movie is worthy of being in cinemas, everybody of any age is willing to enjoy this masterpiece. I did not expect this movie to be so good, if your an Ed, Edd and Eddy fan, do not miss this great work of cartoon art. Cartoon Network should have stayed with this show, these kind of shows are the ones that keep cartoon network with high ratings. But without the Eds, Cartoon Network is sure to fall.

An excellent movie to end the classic series

Sometime after "Ed, Edd, n Eddy" came out in 1999, I immediately became a big fan of the show. I loved how all the characters had their own unique personality, the great story lines, and the hilarious humor that each episode had. And now in 2009, the movie entitled "Ed, Edd, n Eddy's Big Picture Show" comes out and it is bigger and funnier than any of the episodes that the series had to offer.

The story of the movie is about another scam that the Eds have come up with making a turn for the worse and now all of the kids of the Cul-De-Sac want to get revenge for what happened to them. The Eds come up with a solution that the only place that they will be safe at is where Eddy's brothers lives, so then they begin a journey to get there before the kids catch up with them.

Aside from the humor and great story, the movie also offers some good references from the show that really brings back the memories from the old episodes of the series. The animation and character development was pretty good as always and some scenes, such as action sequence during the beginning, were very well written and directed.

As for the ending, I won't spoil it for anyone but I will say this: it is an ending that the fans will very love. And although this movie marks the end of the series, it was great living the memories again.

Rating: **** out of ****

P.S. Stick around after the movie ends because there is an extra scene after the credits.

A Very Great Example of a Successful TV Movie

If certain theatrical films, like "the Lion King", "Finding Nemo", and "Kung Fu Panda", can be very successful and memorable in characterization and storytelling, then TV movies can be like that, too. And "Ed, Edd n Eddy's Big Picture Show" is one superb example.

Basically, the movie centers on the Eds searching for Eddy's brother after Eddy's latest scam backfires big time. (Only the Eds fans know exactly why the scam flops out - sort of.) And all the kids of the Cul-De-Sac have to track them down to avenge for themselves before those troublemakers can reach their destination. Aside from maniac animation and ultimate level of humor, there's one thing that hasn't been overlooked throughout the whole film: heart.

The story of "Ed, Edd n Eddy's Picture Show" has been split into many parts: the Eds, Kevin and Nazz, Jonny and Plank, Sarah and Jimmy (later merged with the Kanker Sisters and Wilbur), and Rolf and Wilbur. But unlike "Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa", there's a sufficient amount of story for each set of characters - not too much nor too little. It's all because of the superb sense of direction of the movie. Even the film is almost well-structured, too. (The beginning is a perfect example!) And it seems that the creative artists of "Ed, Edd n Eddy" had managed to take the TV movie to "the place it has to be" big time.

So if you are looking for TV movies with superb comedy and heart, like "Escape from Cluster Prime" and "Rugrats: All Growed Up", then "Ed, Edd n Eddy's Big Picture Show" is one best example to see.

"I'm really starting to hate slapstick."

The movie is one long chase scene with subplots, side stories, side gags and an obnoxious amount of slapstick. The animation is like nothing ever seen on Cartoon Network, and there's a lot of energy and fluidity in it, but often the energy is too much. And yet there are moments I always come back to. The writing has some really clever moments and some good dramatic moments as well, even when the execution isn't quite right. It's like if Sally Cruikshank made Stand By Me. The movie as a whole lacks focus, but when it centers on the relationship between the Eds, it delivers. There's one great scene where Edd releases his pent up rage and calls out Eddy for being a shameless swindler, and Eddy calls out Edd for being a high-and-mighty hypocrite. Both characters, however, have their redeeming qualities. Edd is compassionate, and Eddy has a secret protective instinct and a desperate need to be liked. I was never an Ed fan, but as dumb as he is, he makes up for it with his massive heart. And Eddy's brother makes a big impression with only five minutes of screentime. Sneering and heavyset, he looks like a villain in a Bugs Bunny cartoon; he's a dead ringer for Nasty Canasta from 'Barbary Coast Bunny'. What makes him stand out from other Cartoon Network villains is that he's completely human. He's not a monster or a supervillain but a common bully. And he's all the more terrifying for it, especially to children. Antonucci gives a very good message about abuse, in this case domestic abuse, in Eddy's brother's entire scene. It's not the best TV movie I've seen. It's overly long, overly padded, overly frenetic... but has moments that really deliver. As with the series, of the Cartoon Network TV movies it's the best animation-wise. The characters have form and structure, and a strong sense of presence. This movie will stick with me for a long time. Most valuable player: Sam Vincent

The best.

This film is my favorite. Love the film. If this comes out on DVD and Blu-ray, the rating should be PG. I love the TV show too. Best film of all time. Danny Antonucci is the best TV show creator ever. Mr. Antonucci, if you are reading this, spin off alert. I have an idea of a spin off film for Captain Melonhead and Splinter the Wonderwood. The name would be "The Adventures of Captain Melonhead." Also "Ed Edd n Eddy's Big Picture Show 3-D." If you like my idea e-mail me at my e-mail address, agenttortilla@yahoo.com. Any other people besides him and IMDb, leave me alone. Also, IMDb, a film this superb should have a preview on this sight.

Yet another disappointing movie adaptation

This is yet another example that a company wanted to make a movie, and the big bosses thought that they need to throw lots of money in order to make it good. Overblown action sequences, over the top, everyone is shouting in my ears 24/7, moving around, having way too much energy, being violent and destroying anything that they touch (they put superman/hulk to shame with their superpowers) stuff moving around everywhere and it completely lacks the humor, originality, clever things and subliminal messages. It appeals to a very young audience of little kids with no brains and too much energy, unlike the original show that was more for middle age kids but could also be enjoyed by older audience. To give you numbers, 8-16 year olds for the tv show, but 4-10 year olds for the movie adaptation.

Ed Edd n Eddys Big Picture Show deserves to be released on DVD!

One of the best made for TV movies, it was full of surprises! I would like to watch this movie over and over again, but Ed Edd n Eddys Big Picture Show was sadly never released on DVD, it was the best way tp end the series, but im wondering why it was never released on DVD, it should, and Im doing everything I can to make it happen! It made me laugh so hard that milk came ou of my nose. It also shocked me when Eddys older brother was actually show, which really gave me a huge shock when I watched it. I really don't understand why it was never released on DVD. It was one of the best movies that Cartoonetwork made for TV, so who else thinks that Ed Edd n Eddys big picture show deserves to be on DVD?

All the trademark humor of Ed Edd Eddy packed into a 90 minute film

The trademark humor of the Ed Edd and Eddy series is their incredibly elastic body parts, over-portrayal over-exaggerated simple ideas, and the ability to turn the most innocuous objects into sophisticated machines, and this film continues off of it. Basically the story revolves around the Eds trying to escape the wrath of the cul de sac kids after their latest scam unintentionally goes awry, leaving Kevin, Nazz, Rolfe, Johnny horribly mutilated. During this whole pursuit, each of the cul de sac kids run into humorous situations similar to the TV series and through these situations they really get a chance to learn about each other and the strength of their friendship. The film was well made; each character had a decent amount of development, there are happy and sad times for the Eds and the end of the movie is unlike anything you have ever seen in the TV series. This is highly recommended for all fans of Ed Edd Eddy.

The best possible finale for this series, or any like it

My thoughts here come with a backstory: I was not a *huge* fan of EEnE as a child. In fact, Eddy probably ranked among my least favorite characters in any show, for being a greedy punk and getting his friends in trouble. That said, I looked back on the show with the same vague nostalgia I had for most Cartoon Network shows of its era.

In high school, I found out this movie existed and decided to watch it online. It led me to rewatch, and rethink, the entire series. The Big Picture Show finds the bigger story rooted in an episodic slapstick comedy and runs with it. While funny, it hits more emotional beats than you'd expect for a show like this- and ones that other series finales can only dream of. It recontextualizes Eddy's character throughout previous seasons in a very sympathetic, tragic light, and let me appreciate many of the other characters beyond the often one-note role they played in episodes. It's been 7 years since I watched this film, and there are still scenes from it I think about sometimes. If you haven't watched the Big Picture Show, I can't recommend it enough. It's one thing to be nostalgic; it's another to make you rethink nostalgia.

Watch the whole series and then watch this. You won't regret. If you're exactly like me.

The best Swansong that this series could have asked for. Seriously, Ed, Edd and Eddy is one of those Cartoons that were emblematic of my childhood and anyone with fond memories of it as a child should which this picture even if they have outgrown the show.

Taking us outside the infamous cul-de-sac, if the show had been a bit more relevant in 2009 it could so have been a theatrical feature. There is an artistic competence here that one doesn't really expect (or need) in these movies. The opening sequence with the title cards.... rarely do I begin a movie with such a distinct sense of dread. I mean it.

The landscapes and backgrounds give a powerful sense of grandness on this Odyssey to safety that tests friendships just when the stakes are highest. I suppose the stakes aren't that much higher than getting beat up, but it's a bunch of pre-teens away from home, anything could happen.

All the things that annoyed me a little about the show are addressed. They made this for the fans and it's perfect for what it is.
