Kingdom of the Mummies

Interesting find but utterly disrespectful to the Egyptian dead to completely rob their tombs of everything they wanted to be left with. Basically tomb raiding with government approval. Also, listening to Salima Ikram explain the journey into the afterlife is like listening to a child after having heard it explained by the great John Anthony West and Graham Hancock.

This movie one on NatGeo's masterpiece , A great adventure lead by Dr. Ramadan hussien which represents the new generation of smart Egyptian Egyptologists. I felt that I'm one of his team and liked every one of his team Especially Dr. mostafa tolba , Thanks for all team work In excavation project and NatGeo for this wonderful series.

Every scene is repeated about 6 times. Some to the point it was comical.

It could have been a nice, well edited, concise, amazing 1 hour documentary. But a simple 30 second scene is stretched out, repeating the age of 2,600 years over and over and over and over and over as an example.

I'm sure someone made this choice that wasn't part of the creative team...and shouldn't even be involved. Someone in the office, that needs to justify the existence of their position had their hands all over the editing.

I recommend fast forwarding constantly, you won't miss anything. It's not worth investing 3 hours of time.

It feels a lot like grave robbing and I'm missing some respect for the mummies in question and their desire for how they wanted to be buried.

On the other hand these are Egyptians learning about their ancient cultures and also providing work for many egyptians.. its a fine line to walk and they are barely balancing it out

I like Egyptian archeology but this was heinous. Completely disrespectful to the dead and the glee shown by Dr. Hussein was disgusting. Where does anyone get off opening a tomb and then extracting the mummy, as if we are any better than the tomb robbers they kept mentioning. It's one thing to find artifacts for a museum, it's another entirely to remove human beings for the sake of television. Disappointing.

NG stick to Dr. Albert Lin and his beloved LIDAR, at least he shows reverence and respect for ancient cultures.
