Super good movie, super relaxing, I loved everything about it, the story, the music, the characters, I just wanted to see Sirocco more but maybe in a sequel if they will make (I hope so, I will watch it for sure) so yeah I recommend you to watch it if it's still in theaters in your country, now I wait for them to make it available for streaming. It is an animated good story, I don't want to give you spoilers, just go watch it by yourselves, you will for sure love it like I did. People on internet say it looks like Catnapped (I never heard about it till now) I just wanna found more movies like these, cause Ghibli movies give different vibes cause they are japanese and Sirocco is made by french people.
When a film has a captivating story, well-crafted characters, and a limitless imagination, but the animation feels really off, it makes it hard for me to fully dive into the experience!
Juliette (4) and Carmen (8) have a neighbor named Agnes who writes children's books set in a magical place called the Kingdom of the Air Currents. The sisters stumble upon a portal that leads them to this amazing world. Once they arrive, they magically turn into cats and encounter Sirocco, a menacing figure who can control the wind... but things aren't exactly what they seem at first glance.
The main plot revolves around the girls wanting to return home, but there's a deeper layer of themes that might fly over the heads of younger viewers, like the idea of turning grief into creativity. It's a nuanced film in many aspects, especially in its imaginative portrayal of characters and settings... which ultimately let me down!

I hope more people will get the opportunity to enjoy this film in the theatre. I took our 6-year-old daughter to see it last weekend, during the 2-day release window in the US, and she LOVED it. The animation is incredible and very much in the style of Yellow Submarine combined with Paprika. Story follows two sisters as they go on an adventure into the fictional world their aunt has written in a series of books. We watched it dubbed in English, so I can't speak to how that differs from the French original, but it seemed well-done and made as much sense as possible given the source. The soundtrack was also lovely.
Took our kids to see this movie in theaters, and did not expect much. But I certainly should have. What a joyous experience for everyone.
A beautiful animation style which really tickles the imagination. The pasing may be a bit odd for people who are used to blockbusters, but in my opinion it was a story told in a spectacular way.
The music is on point throughout and even if the movie is under 90 minutes long it is plenty to become invested in the characters.
Beautiful all the way through. I'll most definitely buy the dvd and watch it numerous times with my kid as he is growing up, as the story teaches the young ones about the importance of love for each other and courage. Most enjoyable for adults as well.
