It was never revealed nor was it payed off in the story line. It may have just been a way to pay off the line that Buddy used in the beginning when they were collecting all the money, "People do strange things when it comes to money." It added to the intrigue making the audience wonder if it was all part of Felix Bush's grand scheme.
