A High School Story

This film had potential to be better--and more realistic--but is sadly ruined by a very cheesy script--and some amateur acting. It had potential to be less corny and better of a portrayal of high-school life. The dialogue can be very silly and unoriginal at times--certain moments lack any originality; they are simply manufactured into the film and come off as very clichéd. Overused concepts shouldn't be used for a script--this film could have used more innovative concepts/ideas and therefore, created a more innovative and original script as a result. Corny dialogue is enhanced by some very amateurish performances--the delivery of dialogue is terrible, and sometimes doesn't feel realistic. Certain ways actors deliver their dialogue does not fit with the performances--and it feels that the acting was not carefully practiced and studied by these actors. If you just want to watch this film as a guilty pleasure, and not to analyze the screenwriting/acting flaws, by all means, watch it as a guilty pleasure. Still, I feel that this film had potential to be better than it turned out to be.
