"NT Worship should be based on Scripture because it was in the OT." Uhhh where do we get the explicit detailed worship guide in the NT? Anyone that says that is either utterly inconsistent or a Covenanter, which should be obvious that covenanters are wrong considering no one did that until the Puritans. Do all these guys have congregations with no instruments? Don't recall any mention of those in the NT. Unless Christ provided us with some other authority, there is no possible way to get a NT worship blueprint. This should be obvious. If it was so important you'd think it would be more explicit in Scripture if that was the plan, but it wasn't. There's not even an explicit blueprint for church government, which is why they can't even make a video about worship without everyone agreeing on church government. I think it could be because a government was already set up many decades before the NT was written and it would be really weird to define the ins and outs of how Church polity functioned when they were already in operation. The same would likely go for the worship. What were the NT Christians supposed to do that didn't get the two letters that even give minor details of how to worship? Sit around for the next 200 years until it was universally applied? Or is it okay to assume there was another authority operating so they knew how to worship how God wanted them? You'd hope that's the case since it's obviously really important to God according to the documentary (which I agree). Just not a good documentary. Les has also gotten so angry over the years. I remember when the podcast first started he was so lighthearted, then his podcast buddy turned Covenanter and you could just hear the bitterness growing. Now Les' bitterness is manifest in his tone on fb posts. I've been out of that world for a while now, but just something I noticed before I left Protestantism. You should leave too Les. It's amazing what Christ can do through the Eucharist. Christ didn't come spiritually, He came physically. And He came to offer Himself. He is truly the bread that came down from heaven, and because I believe in the incarnation, He must physically be here and He told us He would be. Christ in not a Spirit, He's fully God and fully man. That's the same logic used by the early Church to defend the Eucharist. If Christ truly is fully God and fully man, Spirit and flesh, then there's no way for the Eucharist to be merely "spiritual presence" because Christ is physical. To deny the physical presence of Christ in the Eucharist is to deny the incarnation in favor of what the gnostics espoused. One day you'll know this. I hope before you die.
