In The Haves, The Oval, and now Ruthless, Tyler's lines go like this: "Are you going to the store?" "Yes, I'm going to the store." "Why are you going to the store?" "Because I want to" "Are you sure the store is where you are going?" " I SAID I was going to the store and that's where I'm going" "I don't really believe you're going to a store." "Well then where do you think I'm going?"

Once Tyler stops doing this mess, his shows will be PERFECT. They are entertaining as all hell, but he really should listen to Oprah and hire writers. No offense Tyler, we love you. But stop trying to write your own scripts.

I am so disappointed in this short-series. I recently had foot surgery and decided on this series to watch. I made it thru Season 4 only to find that the series abruptly ended. It was poorly designed and ended with no real explanation and no real ending.

Even if he does renew, I will not watch. A complete waste of time once you get past season 2.

The story has a repetitive nature and never comes close to an end. How Many times can Andrew leave and come back. On Season 4, they talk about the FBI us coming. We see Andrew fighting his way back in, then it's over.

I will make sure to read all reviews before I watch any more series wit TP.

For some god forsaken reason, I sat through 31 episodes of this show and the pacing is just too slow. So many repetitive conversations that go on and on and 95% of the characters are so stupid or just unlikable that you really don't feel attached to any of them. At least it's sister show "The Oval" can be watched as a dark comedy because of its ridiculous plot developments or it's cliche characters, but this show is so dark that you can't really enjoy this show in the same way.

This show is SERIOUSLY lacking. The "acting" is garbage, and I can't wrap my mind around the idea that TP doesn't know that it's garbage. I mean really? How does BET feel about peddling this trash? Do they even care that this type of programming hurts their image? Or does the money drown out the terrible dialogue? As I attempted to watch this series, in stunned silence, I expected Ashton Kutcher to jump out and say that I was being punked. There's no way the positive reviews on here are real. No way!!! Do better TP, do better.

Bad acting! Sick minded script writing! It's like they are reading straight from a script and repeating the same things over and over. And forgetting what happened in the previous scene or episode. Like why ask if she took a bath when you were right there with her watching her. This needs to end real soon and I bet if we stopped watch it it would. I wanted to see how it ended hoping it would on a good note. But I decided today that I will not watch this sick show anymore. I can't support this anymore I don't care who wrote or produced it. I really hope the actor and actresses are able to find other jobs after this. The storyline is so dark they must have a real hard time sleeping at night. They will need therapy after this and some real training on acting.

The reviews of this show are truly ignorant.

The acting in this show and the dialogue are absolutely atrocious. Each scene just drags on and on and on.

I didn't know what to expect but I'm happy I tuned in. My free 7 days ran out but I'm going to pay for it as I need to see where this goes! Love Lenny's character Dikahn, Jaime M. Callica as Brian (his wife is a bit crazy, need to see what happens there) and Yvonne Senat Jones... Very believable. Great job, Tyler Perry

Conceptually this is a fantastic show. Tyler has great ideas, but the dialogue....oh my goodness it's horrible. You could get so much more show in an episode with better dialogue. The "hello's" on every entry, The "I know's", the "Yes'", the awkward pauses, are exhausting and really destroys a show that could be great. Tyler needs to get writers, a writers room. They could bring his genius to another level. You can't be good at everything Mr. Perry, IJS. Dialogue is not your strong suit and that's okay, you are still amazing and very much respected. Just recognize and acknowledge where others can help you.

I have really tried watching this Tyler Perry's series but this is whack a scene drags a 'what did u jus say' is repeated so many times. The scenes have that never ending backdrop music don't waste your time read a book or sth

Loved this show! The first episode caught my interest and each episode that followed left me wanting to watch more. Don't know about Agent Rollins' wife just showing up at the cult compound like she did, didn't find that super believable, but otherwise, I loved the show and the characters. I especially found Jaime Callica's portrayal of Agent Rollins to be believable, likable and fantastic. Can't wait to watch every week!

Okay. I know there are some bad reviews. You have to give it a chance. The story line is crazy and it lures you in. Yes, some of the actors aren't the best BUT some are good. Ruth is a very hood actor along with more. It shows like a book. It makes you think that they're place out there like this. Also, when you think about some of the crazy stuff we have seen, it makes since that a show is out here like this. Please give it a chance.

You can tell the dialogue was written by one person, run unchecked. Two people will argue and go through every variation of the exact same question and answer. This pads the scenes to well over how long they would normally go in a properly written show. The plot is stretched out to put it at 24 episodes a season. Mind you, I only watched the first 7 episodes before I bowed out. I just can't continue. It gets one star out of the respect I have for what Tyler Perry has done overall and one for the beautiful women on the show.

This mess is no different from all the rest of the hot garbage he puts out. Couldn't even get past one episode til I changed the channel. The people giving this show 8/10-10/10 are from his camp. There is no way in hell a person could sit and watch this and give it more than one star. Hell if I could I wouldn't give it any stars!! I keep asking myself how he is able to put out one horrible show after another. I still haven't got the answer. If I hear one more person say "but he's employing our people" I'm gonna scream! I don't support anyone who CONSTANTLY puts out such atrocious work. Just cause we black don't mean I gotta support him. PERIOD!!!

There is a way to explore human depravity and religious zealousness. This isn't it. The themes are severely overshadowed here by terrible acting, stilted writing, wooden dialogue, hap-hazard characterization, and a serious lack of sensitivity. Do yourself a favor: watch some documentaries on the subjects instead.

The acting is horrible. The storylines drag on, and the dialogue is so horrible I cannot even understand how there are so many episodes. I am so disappointed in this series especially since this is a TP show.

I love this show also love the oval which this show is a spin off of. Never seen another show like it. It's very unique and addicting can't wait for the rest of season one to come out.

Why was this given another season ? Love tyler perry he is brilliant at what he does but this series just drags on .. It looks low budget and lacks something ..usually with drama thrillas they have a start beginining and an end but for me this does not have either same thing each episode goind round in circles ..hreat acting lousy direction and production.

I think this is a great show. You gotta have a knack for the dark stuff I guess. The acting really isn't that bad. You can tell the actors are new and probably just getting their foot in the door.. but they are not that bad ! The episodes and actors get better as the seasons go on. And I think the story line is good/interesting. You guys are so harsh on here . Haha.

This show sucks so much. I wanted to try and like it cause Tyler's doing his thing. But this just sucked. The script, the bad background music, some scenes are unnecessarily long and lacks impact they thought that would have. I watched the 1st 3 but to go any further is just pointless. And it's not the story that appalls me it's the poor execution. Poor poor script. Cannot believe how poor the script is. There is so much silly unnecessary back and forth chatter. Had so much potential. I gave it 1 star because I couldn't post otherwise. The 10/10 reviews must be friends, family and those who got fed off this production. Some of the main actors weren't so bad but they had to play a lame script. I'm out. I'll wait for the next big Tyler Perry production.

Yet another Tyler Perry hit! His writing and story telling never disappoints! I have to point out the exceptional acting of Jaime M Callica! Not only is is awesome to see a Canadian out there, but his character is both believable and very well played. The shirtless scenes aren't hard to watch either 😉. I can't wait to watch more and see what happens with his case and his wife too!

This could be a really good show but a lot of the storylines are dumb the writer are off like when they escape the car runs hot that doesn't make sense.

I cannot believe this show went further than the pilot. The actors are useless and the storyline is so slow. You should stick to comedy's because this is a joke!!
