Lindsay Lohan seemed done. After a great start to her career, she had some personal struggles, and jobs weren't as easy to find. Then Netflix helped rescue her career.
She isn't a bad actress, and she has a likability that transcends the screen. She can be cute, intelligent, and confusing all at the same time. She has talent, but it might have its limits. Still, she has turned several Netflix films into fluffy things into highly entertaining ones.
Irish Wish, for instance, has no business being as good as it is. The idea of the plot seems worn out. A young woman finds that the love of her life is in love with someone else, but she gets asked to be a bridesmaid anyway. She falls asleep and wakes up as the bride-to-be. Silly, but Lohan makes it work.

Disney has a new stage show coming to Hollywood Studios at the Walt Disney World Resort called “Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After.”
Now we have a look at the show thanks to The Concrete Wanderer on YouTube.
Villains are caught in mirrors around the stage, with some characters coming out in physical form to perform.
The video focuses on the Magic Mirror’s song, which is catchy, but reminds me of a song from the old Disney Channel holiday specials.
It’s about 15 minutes long.
Some are complaining about the show being screen-heavy, but it’s likely the best way for Disney to get something new out quickly while controlling the costs. Meanwhile, Universal is coming at them with much more advanced shows. But Disney had to do something quickly, and they did.
Disney did cram a lot of villain representation into the show.

As the first chapter of Doctor Who's season 15 finale draws closer, returning companion actor Millie Gibson addresses a rising fan theory that ties her character to Archie Panjabi's rogue Time Lady the Rani. After Ncuti Gatwa's Fifteenth Doctor and latest companion Belinda Chandra (Varada Sethu) bring their extended journey back home to Earth to a close, "Wish World" will see them arrive on a vastly altered world due to the Rani's interference. With the Earth and seemingly the Tardis team under her influence, the season finale will see Ruby return, alongside several Unit members.
With Ruby set to face the Rani in Doctor Who's two-part season finale, Gibson addressed a certain theory that has gained traction among the fandom while speaking with RadioTimes that suggests the rogue Time Lady may have had some part in her origin, due to previews showing the Rani donning a familiar cloak.

Disney is giving audiences a new Zootopia movie after nine years. However, there's not much for fans to discern in the first teaser trailer for Zootopia 2, which could easily qualify for the title of the weirdest teaser ever released by the House of Mouse.
Backed by techno beats, the Zootopia 2 teaser finds returning fan favorites Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde and newcomer Gary De’Snake being pursued by an assortment of mammal cops across the various ecosystems and biomes that make up Zootopia. The footage also features the first look at a mysterious cloaked antagonist, who is already being compared online to Death in Puss in Boots: The Last Wish. The teaser concludes by flashing the character profiles of several returning characters, as well as many new faces, such as Nibbles, a beaver who will be voiced by Fortune Feimster. Check out the Zootopia 2 teaser trailer and poster below.

The Disneyland Hotel was already a great place to stay, but some new upgrades have made it a must for any visitor to Disneyland!
The biggest difference between Disneyland and Walt Disney World is the number of official Disney resorts. In Orlando, you can enjoy a selection of over two dozen excellent resorts, each boasting its own unique themes and ranging from value to deluxe.
In contrast, Disneyland only has three. That’s because Walt couldn’t purchase enough land that he wanted around the area, so as soon as Disneyland became a hit, scores of smaller hotels and restaurants sprang up around it.
Today, the main Disneyland resorts are the Disneyland Hotel, the Grand California Lodge (notable for technically being inside California Adventure), and Pixar Place (formerly Paradise Pier), which had a big remodel in 2024.
My family stayed at the Disneyland Hotel in 2023 and I wrote about how great it is.

Deadline’s Most Valuable Blockbuster tournament ends with Pixar Animation Studios’ Chief Creative Officer Pete Docter ascending the ladder to cut the net as Inside Out 2 is crowned the most profitable movie of 2024 with a net take of $650M.
It was a year when Disney made a major comeback at the box office, becoming the first studio post-pandemic to exceed $5 billion at the global box office. And that, per sources, always is great thing for the overall box office, creating an all-boats-rise type of scenario. Last year, Disney had one film in the profitability top 10, Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 3, and four bombs in Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, Haunted Mansion, Wish and The Marvels. This year, the studio counted the top three most profitable titles with Inside Out 2, No. 2 with Moana 2 and No. 3 with Marvel Studios’ Deadpool & Wolverine — the prescription for superhero fatigue. It also scored the No.

Even if the Marvel multiverse isn’t your thing, Disney+ has plenty of sequels, throwbacks, and feel-good hits worth streaming right now.
Disney+ isn’t just for Marvel diehards — which is good news, because I’ve never really been one. The whole superhero multiverse thing? Not really my speed. But even if you’re not lining up for every new Avengers drop, Disney+ still has a lot going for it right now. We’re talking big-screen sequels, throwback favorites, inspiring true stories, and one delightfully chaotic R-rated team-up that feels like it snuck in through a side door.
Whether you’re in the mood for something animated, emotional, or just flat-out fun, there’s something worth watching this week. So, here are my top 7 movies streaming on Disney+ right now.

Walt Disney Animation Studios is paying tribute to female talent in art and animation at a one-of-a-kind exhibition during the Gran Canaria-based Animayo. From May 7-10, the exhibition Whimsy & Wonder will be exclusively on display during the fest.
Disney, an official sponsor this year, will celebrate the female artists who helped shape Disney’s visual storytelling for more than a hundred years. These include the trailblazing Mary Blair, who transformed the use of color in the 1950s, and the visionary women behind modern favorites like “Frozen,” “Encanto” and “Moana 2.” The exhibition is a homage to the women who have shaped the past—and are defining the future—of animation.

Disney's iconic stories are part of the reason it has endured forever, or at least as long as it has. However, many fans would agree that some of the latest offerings from The Walt Disney Company aren't exactly the gold standard.
One only has to look to the recent Snow White adaptation to see just how far Disney has fallen from its heyday. However, one of the newest additions to the Disney Cruise Line might hold the key to the studio's restoration.
A tale as old as time
Many of Disney's recent releases at the box office, have one major flaw in common: they are all very modernized takes. Whether that's Snow White, Wish, or even some of the most recent Star Wars entries, they all play to a certain set of modern values that differ from traditional Disney themes.

‘Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid: A Lonely Dragon Wants to be Loved’ Trailer Reveals Film’s Ending Song
Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid has been one of the most popular works in its genre for years now. This quirky reverse isekai comedy has a very devoted fandom and that is why it shouldn’t surprise us that people are still interested in the future of the franchise.
With the original manga still ongoing, there is more material to adapt. And while the anime series is on a hiatus now, we know that a tie-in film titled Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid: A Lonely Dragon Wants to Be Loved is going to be released later this year.
A proper trailer for the movie has been released and aside from some new scenes from the movie, the trailer also revealed the ending song for the movie.

It's no secret that the new live-action remake of Disney's Snow White isn't exactly winning everyone over. Even with its miserable box office numbers, the movie was fated to fall long before the production was even finished.
With an ocean of controversy behind its plot, its use of CGI, and the toxic background created by its leading lady, there might be a glimmer of hope for the House of Mouse yet. As Disney's folly sinks in the live-action department, this failure might force them to return to what they do best: classic, traditional animation.
Will Disney go Looney after Snow White?
It's safe to say that Snow White is officially a laughing stock at the cinema, and not for the right reasons. The film's opening box office was a meager haul of around $42 million versus its over $200 million budget, making it one of Disney's biggest bombs. However, there might be...

It may be time for Disney to return to 2D animation and there are great reasons for it!
There's been a long debate among Disney fans about whether the company should go back to traditional hand-drawn 2D animation. They had tried in 2009 with The Princess and the Frog but that movie's underperformance at the box office meant sticking to CGI.
Disney has seen a lot of success since adapting to 3D animation. However, it's also seen failures like 2024's Wish. They've had to rely on Pixar and change Moana 2 from a planned TV series to a feature film. Which is why maybe it's a great time for Disney to seriously consider going back to 2D animation and there are some excellent reasons it can work!

On Saturday, March 15, on a sunny afternoon, Disney’s “Snow White” finally had its big premiere at the Disney-owned El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood. There was a brightly decorated pre-party with activities for kids. The stars of the movie, Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot, who had weathered respective controversies, showed up and even took pictures together, sometimes with director Marc Webb sandwiched in-between them. Instead of actual press, Disney had Jodi Benson, the voice of Ariel in 1989’s animated classic “The Little Mermaid,” asking questions on behalf of D23, the company’s in-house fan club. A chubby bunny hopped down the red carpet.
The premiere felt like a joyful release, or maybe a guttural scream, depending on who you talk to, and served as the culmination of a nearly 10-year journey to get this gauzy remake of Walt Disney’s original animated classic back to the big screen. That near-decade had been besieged by controversy,...

As long as they keep making money, Disney is going to continue cranking out live-action remakes of its animated classics, even if it means sacrificing its magic in the process. All art is subjective, which means there's no universal truth to declaring what determines the "best" or "worst" of these reimaginings, but I can say with confidence that Rachel Zegler is, hands down, the best live-action Disney Princess we've ever seen. Mind you, I have a deep affinity for Lily James' absolutely perfect portrayal of Cinderella, but I also lamented that she didn't get to sing "A dream is a wish your heart makes." Meanwhile, I'm far less critical of Emma Watson's Belle than most critics, mostly because the "Beauty and the Beast" retelling isn't great, but I can still admit something was lacking to transcend the character into the kind of unignorable magnetism inherent in all Disney Princesses.

Get ready for another Pixar sequel as we're getting Coco 2 in a few years!
Like it or not, Disney and Pixar seem intent on focusing on sequels to their past animated hits. True, Pixar does have Elio coming out this summer for an original tale, but the future slate for them and regular Disney animation builds on the hit status of Inside Out 2.
It appears easier for Disney to mine past successful IP than take a chance ons something new that can disapoint (such as Wish). So we're getting new installments for Zootopia, Frozen and Toy Story. Now, we can add another big Pixar sequel with Coco 2!
During the annual Walt Disney shareholders meeting, CEO Bob Iger confirmed that a sequel to the 2017 Oscar-winning hit is in the works. Per the release, the film reunites directors Lee Unkrich and Adrian Molina, with Mark Neilsen producing. The film is targeted for a 2029 release.

Fans and critics have been in agreement recently that Disney's once masterful storytelling and even animation quality has faltered. With releases like Wish and Mufasa: The Lion King not surpassing the certified fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes and scoring in the lower-mid-range on IMDb and Letterboxd, seeing the quintessential castle logo before a film doesn't indicate that it will be a truly magical adventure anymore.
Even though films like Mufasa and Moana 2 were financially successful, more and more discourse online and among communities emerges every time Disney releases a cash-grabbing live-action film or an animated film with significant story blunders and even unfinished-looking animation. Now is a better time than ever to revisit the classics that made audiences fall in love with Disney. Even though it's bittersweet that Disney may never get back to this point, their legacy in animation must be acknowledged and honored.

For years, WWE fans have debated whether John Cena would ever turn heel. The guy has been the ultimate babyface for so long that even the thought of him switching sides felt like a fever dream.
But on WWE Raw, that dream or nightmare, depending on who you ask finally became a reality. Cena unleashed a scathing promo that had everyone doing double-takes, because, well, we might have heard something very similar before.
A still of John Cena in WWE | Credits: WWE Network
Now, let’s get one thing straight. Cena’s heel turn was bound to be dramatic. He couldn’t just stroll into the ring, smirk at the crowd, and say, “Hey guys, I’m bad now.” Nope. He had to make it count.
And he did. The problem? The words coming out of his mouth felt eerily familiar. Like, almost word-for-word familiar. And not just from any random wrestler,...

The fan-favorite Warner Brothers anamorphic animated characters finally made their way to the big screen with The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie. As someone who grew up as a kid before the internet and would find my entertainment on TV, Looney Tunes was my jam. Seeing them in the theaters all these years later is very nostalgic.
Disney was never as much my thing, yet there was a love and wonderment for their 2D animated work that was hard to deny. Yet, for many, Disney seems to have lost some of its magic in the modern landscape by switching to CGI. But all is not necessarily lost, as I think The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie might help spark their realization to embrace the past and deliver a new animated classic.

"Snow White" is finally making its way to big screens worldwide next week, and no matter where it ends up being ranked among Disney's live-action remakes, it's certainly had the roughest road to release. The start of filming was delayed by the Covid-19 pandemic, and when production was finally ready to roll cameras, the set caught fire. It was put through the wringer of public debate before people had seen a single frame of it, from sensitivity struggles over depicting the seven dwarfs to an ugly backlash over the casting of star Rachel Zegler. And the enmity between Zegler's character and Gal Gadot's antagonist was mirrored in real life by the actors' opposing views on the ongoing war in Gaza.
Amid all of this furore, Disney opted to give "Snow White" a small scale, remotely-located global premiere at a medieval castle in Segrovia, Spain, with no media outlets invited at all.

Directors Anthony and Joe Russo have crossed one more non-Marvel Cinematic Universe entry off their list this week with the release of their new sci-fi film "The Electric State." Based on the book by Simon Stålenhag, the film sees Millie Bobby Brown and Chris Pratt traverse an alternative 1995, where robots that were once servants to humanity have been abandoned and ostracised following a failed rebellion against their makers. It's among these rusty and worn-down bots, however, that Brown's Michelle finds allies to be reunited with her brother, whom she believed was long since dead, and who could hold the key to bringing the bots back into winning back their rights.

Was Moana 2 going to theaters a response to the failure of Disney’s Wish? The evidence is compelling!
Moana 2 has just hit Disney+ this week, allowing audiences to check it out. Of course, it’s likely many have already seen the movie in theaters. Since its release in Thanksgiving 2024, the film has pulled in over a billion dollars at the global box office and is one of the biggest hits of 2024.
Its arrival on Disney+ allows more people to study the film and its unique structure. By now, it’s well known that Disney had planned an animated series that would have followed up the 2016 smash as an older Moana goes on a new journey with demigod Maui in tow.
The film’s origin as a TV show is clear and also lends more credence to the idea that its sudden change to a film was because Disney...

The original star of The Princess and the Frog is speaking up about Disney canceling the planned TV show centering around Princess Tiana, and her words are notable!
Back in 2020 (which feels so much longer than five years), Disney announced plans for Tiana, an animated series exclusive to Disney+. It would have been a sequel to 2009’s The Princess and the Frog, which had been intended to restart a new era in hand-drawn animated features.
Like many projects announced that year, the show hit several delays despite Joyce Sherri joining in 2023 as showrunner and writer. It was really at the point that many forgot it even existed.
Finally, Disney confirmed in early March 2025 that the series was not going forward. For that matter, Disney was now putting the focus on long-form animation only for theatrical releases.
It is a letdown for fans of the movie and especially its star!

John Travolta has frequently strayed from one genre into another, switching from comedy roles in movies such as Look Who’s Talking, to bloody and violent action movies like Pulp Fiction with surprising ease. One of the latter varieties came in the 2016 vigilante movie, I Am Wrath, which saw Travolta on the trail of revenge and is currently finding renewed interest on free streaming despite its dismal critical reviews.
Directed by Chuck Russell, known for The Mask and Eraser, I Am Wrath wants to deliver some high-octane action with Travolta playing Stanley Hill, an ordinary man who snaps after witnessing his wife’s murder and then watching a corrupt system let her killers off the hook. Rather than sink into a maudlin cloud of depression and disillusionment, Hill rediscovers a deadly streak from his past and sets off on a destructive journey to eliminate each lowlife connected to the crime.

Disney has made a decision about long-form animation for Disney+, and it’s a bold move for the company!
For decades, Disney has always been the dominant force in feature animation. Even with challengers like Don Bluth, DreamWorks, and others, Disney and Pixar would be tops at the box office and win the Oscar for Best Animated Feature.
But the last few years have been rough for the company. Sure, the pandemic meant Pixar films like Soul and Turning Red had to be sent to Disney+. But there’s also the bombs of Strange New Worlds and Wish.
Inside Out 2 was a big hit, yet Disney seems to be resting more on sequels than on original fare. Now, a big move has occurred, with Disney announcing that it is canceling plans for a Tiana animated series that was to come to Disney+.

Similar to comic books, pro wrestling features heroes and villains. They're referred to as babyfaces and heels by fans and, for upwards of two decades, WWE viewers have wondered what it would look like if John Cena were to "turn heel."

While I found it personally surprising that Frozen could even hold a candle to Tangled when I first saw it in theaters, ticket sales proved me wrong. There was a ton the movie could have done better. From its tacked-on feeling villain reveal to its eye-catching opening with plenty of narrative vagueness -- Frozen felt every bit as rushed as it actually was. At least in its final form. And while it's gone on to become one of Disney's biggest hits in its history of animation, I think there's a good chance they missed a creative opportunity to make it even better.
There has been some buzz in recent years about how Disney (and Pixar) have simply done away...

Chris Pine is planning to go Nowhere Fast with Fargo creator Noah Hawley. The movie star and FX's favorite television creator are teaming up for the latter's new crime thriller, a film about a small-town criminal in Texas who unwittingly kills the nephew of his boss. The movie is currently titled Nowhere Fast— as you may have guessed from the first line of this story — and sounds like exactly the sort of dark comedy of errors we've come to love and expect from Noah Hawley.
In a new, exclusive report from Variety, it was revealed that Pine would star in the film slated to be written and directed by Hawley, who is perhaps most well known for his work on Fargo, but also created the criminally under-appreciated Legion, as well as Hulu's forthcoming Alien franchise series, Alien: Earth. He got his start in television working on the deeply popular series Bones,...

Since the release of It Ends With Us, the public has shifted support from Blake Lively to Justin Baldoni. However, the actress and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, have received major support from an influential person.
It Ends With Us marks Blake Lively's most successful film as a leading lady, and it was supposed to be her biggest project yet. However, the reality was so much more different, as the Gossip Girl alum received backlash over the summer over her promotion of the film, dealing with domestic violence, with a focus on herself and her haircare line and alcohol brand. She later accused Justin Baldoni — co-star, director, and producer of the film — of sexual harassment and orchestrating a smear campaign, which led to him being dropped from his talent agency, WME. The CEO, Ari Emanuel, just opened up about his support for Lively and Reynolds, mocking Baldoni in the process on the Freakonomics podcast,...

CBS has lined up Justin Long, Kara Royster, Hunter King and Angelique Cabral to guest star in the Season 7 finale of The Neighborhood which will serve as a backdoor pilot for a potential spinoff series.
The quartet have options to become series regulars if CBS moves forward with the planted spinoff for the 2025-26 season and will star on the proposed series alongside The Neighborhood’s Marcel Spears and Sheaun McKinney who will move onto the offshoot.
The premise of the spinoff echoes that of the mothership in reverse. It follows Marty (Spears) and Malcolm (McKinney) Butler as they embark on new adventures, finally leaving their parents’ nest to start the next chapters of their lives, finding themselves the newcomers in a neighborhood that’s both close by yet worlds apart: Venice Beach.
Long will play Bruce, a tech millionaire who is a mix of unjustified confidence and social ineptitude.
