Disney is giving audiences a new Zootopia movie after nine years. However, there's not much for fans to discern in the first teaser trailer for Zootopia 2, which could easily qualify for the title of the weirdest teaser ever released by the House of Mouse.

Backed by techno beats, the Zootopia 2 teaser finds returning fan favorites Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde and newcomer Gary De’Snake being pursued by an assortment of mammal cops across the various ecosystems and biomes that make up Zootopia. The Disneyland Hotel was already a great place to stay, but some new upgrades have made it a must for any visitor to Disneyland!

The biggest difference between Disneyland and Walt Disney World is the number of official Disney resorts. In Orlando, you can enjoy a selection of over two dozen excellent resorts, each boasting its own unique themes and ranging from value to deluxe.

In contrast, Disneyland only has three. That’s because Walt couldn’t purchase enough land that he wanted around the area, so as soon as Disneyland became a hit, scores of smaller hotels and restaurants sprang up around it.

Today, the main Disneyland resorts are the Disneyland Hotel, the Grand California Lodge (notable for technically being inside California Adventure), and Pixar Place (formerly Paradise Pier), which had a big remodel in 2024.

Joe Don Baker, the actor who as the real-life Sheriff Buford Pusser in the 1973 vigilante film Walking Tall carried a big stick to mete out his own Tennessee brand of justice, died May 7, his family has announced. He was 89.

Chris Pine just locked in his next project, and it is not Star Trek 4, with him back aboard the Enterprise as the heroic Captain James T. Kirk. According to the Hollywood trade paper Variety, the actor will star in and produce a film called Run the Night.

Variety states that Run the Night is an action tale to be directed by veteran second unit director and stunt coordinator Robert Alonzo. His many credits include Deadpool and The Batman, as well as Star Trek (2009). He worked on the film as second unit stunt coordinator and fight choreographer.

Great American Media has announced its first original film for the fifth anniversary of its Christmas lineup.

Mario Lopez will headline A Christmas Spark, a confection about a middle-aged litigator who leaves his lucrative career to become a firefighter with other cadets half his age. It also stars Ali Cobrin (The Baxters).

The fifth anniversary of Great American Christmas will kick off on Great American Family in October and stream on Pure Flix in early November.

“The fifth Anniversary of Great American Christmas is a major milestone for our company and our audience,” said Bill Abbott, President & CEO of Great American Media. “What began as an alternative new holiday tradition has become a beloved cornerstone for viewers who want uplifting stories rooted in faith and family and marks a truly special milestone.”

Exclusive: Veteran actor Martin Freeman (Black Panther) and writer-actor Rachel Benaissa (September Says) have partnered to launch a new production company called One Trick Poné.

The pair will kick off work under their label with two projects, a feature film titled The Greatest, written and directed by Danish filmmaker Jeanette Nordahl and starring Martin Freeman. Nordahl is best known for her 2020 Berlinale competition title Wildland, starring Sidse Babett Knudsen. The second project is a short titled A Tiny Thing, written by Rachel Benaissa, with Matthew Sterling set to direct, and Jake Gorton producing.

Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid has been one of the most popular works in its genre for years now. This quirky reverse isekai comedy has a very devoted fandom and that is why it shouldn’t surprise us that people are still interested in the future of the franchise.

The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping is bringing back one of the key voices that launched the film franchise. With "The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping" having now hit bookshelves and quickly become a hit, selling 1.5 million copies in one week, fans are eagerly awaiting the book's adaptation. It's no secret that the new live-action remake of Disney's Snow White isn't exactly winning everyone over. Even with its miserable box office numbers, the movie was fated to fall long before the production was even finished.

With an ocean of controversy behind its plot, its use of CGI, and the toxic background created by its leading lady, there might be a glimmer of hope for the House of Mouse yet. As Disney's folly sinks in the live-action department, this failure might force them to return to what they do best: classic, traditional animation.

It's safe to say that Snow White is officially a laughing stock at the cinema, and not for the right reasons. The film's opening box office was a meager haul of around $42 million versus its over $200 million budget, making it one of Disney's biggest bombs. However, there might be...

It may be time for Disney to return to 2D animation and there are great reasons for it!

There's been a long debate among Disney fans about whether the company should go back to traditional hand-drawn 2D animation. They had tried in 2009 with The Princess and the Frog but that movie's underperformance at the box office meant sticking to CGI.

Disney has seen a lot of success since adapting to 3D animation. However, it's also seen failures like 2024's Wish. They've had to rely on Pixar and change Moana 2 from a planned TV series to a feature film. Which is why maybe it's a great time for Disney to seriously consider going back to 2D animation and there are some excellent reasons it can work!

1. It just comes off more magical

As much as we love the likes of Tangled or, Frozen or Zootopia, one can't help but...

On Saturday, March 15, on a sunny afternoon, Disney’s “Snow White” finally had its big premiere at the Disney-owned El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood. There was a brightly decorated pre-party with activities for kids. The stars of the movie, Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot, who had weathered respective controversies, showed up and even took pictures together, sometimes with director Marc Webb sandwiched in-between them. Instead of actual press, Disney had Jodi Benson, the voice of Ariel in 1989’s animated classic “The Little Mermaid,” asking questions on behalf of D23, the company’s in-house fan club. A chubby bunny hopped down the red carpet.

The premiere felt like a joyful release, or maybe a guttural scream, depending on who you talk to, and served as the culmination of a nearly 10-year journey to get this gauzy remake of Walt Disney’s original animated classic back to the big screen. That near-decade had been besieged by controversy,...

As long as they keep making money, Disney is going to continue cranking out live-action remakes of its animated classics, even if it means sacrificing its magic in the process. All art is subjective, which means there's no universal truth to declaring what determines the "best" or "worst" of these reimaginings, but I can say with confidence that Rachel Zegler is, hands down, the best live-action Disney Princess we've ever seen. Mind you, I have a deep affinity for Lily James' absolutely perfect portrayal of Cinderella, but I also lamented that she didn't get to sing "A dream is a wish your heart makes." Meanwhile, I'm far less critical of Emma Watson's Belle than most critics, mostly because the "Beauty and the Beast" retelling isn't great, but I can still admit something was lacking to transcend the character into the kind of unignorable magnetism inherent in all Disney Princesses.

Get ready for another Pixar sequel as we're getting Coco 2 in a few years!

Like it or not, Disney and Pixar seem intent on focusing on sequels to their past animated hits. True, Pixar does have Elio coming out this summer for an original tale, but the future slate for them and regular Disney animation builds on the hit status of Inside Out 2. 

It appears easier for Disney to mine past successful IP than take a chance ons something new that can disapoint (such as Wish). So we're getting new installments for Zootopia, Frozen and Toy Story. Now, we can add another big Pixar sequel with Coco 2!

During the annual Walt Disney shareholders meeting, CEO Bob Iger confirmed that a sequel to the 2017 Oscar-winning hit is in the works. Per the release, the film reunites directors Lee Unkrich and Adrian Molina, with Mark Neilsen producing. The film is targeted for a 2029 release.

Fans and critics have been in agreement recently that Disney's once masterful storytelling and even animation quality has faltered. With releases like Wish and Mufasa: The Lion King not surpassing the certified fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes and scoring in the lower-mid-range on IMDb and Letterboxd, seeing the quintessential castle logo before a film doesn't indicate that it will be a truly magical adventure anymore.

Even though films like Mufasa and Moana 2 were financially successful, more and more discourse online and among communities emerges every time Disney releases a cash-grabbing live-action film or an animated film with significant story blunders and even unfinished-looking animation. Now is a better time than ever to revisit the classics that made audiences fall in love with Disney. Even though it's bittersweet that Disney may never get back to this point, their legacy in animation must be acknowledged and honored.

For years, WWE fans have debated whether John Cena would ever turn heel. The guy has been the ultimate babyface for so long that even the thought of him switching sides felt like a fever dream.

But on WWE Raw, that dream or nightmare, depending on who you ask finally became a reality. Cena unleashed a scathing promo that had everyone doing double-takes, because, well, we might have heard something very similar before.

As someone who grew up as a kid before the internet and would find my entertainment on TV, Looney Tunes was my jam. Seeing them in the theaters all these years later is very nostalgic.

Disney was never as much my thing, yet there was a love and wonderment for their 2D animated work that was hard to deny. Yet, for many, Disney seems to have lost some of its magic in the modern landscape by switching to CGI. But all is not necessarily lost, as I think The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie might help spark their realization to embrace the past and deliver a new animated classic.

"Snow White" is finally making its way to big screens worldwide next week, and no matter where it ends up being ranked among Disney's live-action remakes, it's certainly had the roughest road to release. The start of filming was delayed by the Covid-19 pandemic, and when production was finally ready to roll cameras, the set caught fire. It was put through the wringer of public debate before people had seen a single frame of it, from sensitivity struggles over depicting the seven dwarfs to an ugly backlash over the casting of star Rachel Zegler. And the enmity between Zegler's character and Gal Gadot's antagonist was mirrored in real life by the actors' opposing views on the ongoing war in Gaza.

Amid all of this furore, Disney opted to give "Snow White" a small scale, remotely-located global premiere at a medieval castle in Segrovia, Spain, with no media outlets invited at all.

Directors Anthony and Joe Russo have crossed one more non-Marvel Cinematic Universe entry off their list this week with the release of their new sci-fi film "The Electric State." Based on the book by Simon Stålenhag, the film sees Millie Bobby Brown and Chris Pratt traverse an alternative 1995, where robots that were once servants to humanity have been abandoned and ostracised following a failed rebellion against their makers. It's among these rusty and worn-down bots, however, that Brown's Michelle finds allies to be reunited with her brother, whom she believed was long since dead, and who could hold the key to bringing the bots back into winning back their rights.

The original star of The Princess and the Frog is speaking up about Disney canceling the planned TV show centering around Princess Tiana, and her words are notable!

Back in 2020 (which feels so much longer than five years), Disney announced plans for Tiana, an animated series exclusive to Disney+. It would have been a sequel to 2009’s The Princess and the Frog, which had been intended to restart a new era in hand-drawn animated features.

Like many projects announced that year, the show hit several delays despite Joyce Sherri joining in 2023 as showrunner and writer. It was really at the point that many forgot it even existed.

Finally, Disney confirmed in early March 2025 that the series was not going forward. For that matter, Disney was now putting the focus on long-form animation only for theatrical releases.

Chris Pine has been set to lead the Texas crime thriller ‘Nowhere Fast’ from Noah Hawley.

The movie follows a small-town criminal who inadvertently kills the nephew of his boss.

Set to be written and directed by ‘Fargo’ and ‘Legion’s’ Noah Hawley, 26 Keys Productions, Hawley’s Austin-based film and TV production company, is producing. Further casting is currently underway.

While I found it personally surprising that Frozen could even hold a candle to Tangled when I first saw it in theaters, ticket sales proved me wrong. There was a ton the movie could have done better.
