On the heels of a report that Spider-Man: Brand New Day will feature a number of villains that have yet to be disclosed, a recent rumor claimed that the movie will also include appearances from some more MCU heroes.

Mttsh has now followed-up by revealing that "at least one more" hero will feature alongside Spidey (Tom Holland), The Punisher (Jon Bernthal) and The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), but it probably won't be who you're hoping to see!

Despite early rumors to the contrary, the scooper reports that, "as of now," Charlie Cox is not expected to make a cameo as Matt Murdock, aka Daredevil.

Though Murdock and Peter Parker did briefly share the screen in Spider-Man: No Way Home, fans have been anticipating a team-up between their costumed alter-egos for many years. Marvel Studios is surely aware of this, so hopefully we'll see them join forces down the line.

James Gunn’s DC Universe inaugural film, Superman, has closed out its sixth weekend with a solid $595 million globally, while The Fantastic Four: First Steps has raked in $469 million after four weekends. Even though Superman has had an additional two weeks to earn revenue, the writing is on the wall that the Marvel Cinematic Universe's 37th entry will not be catching up to the rival studio. Superman will end its run beyond $600 million, but First Steps might not reach $500 million.

The fact that the two movies released in the same month, only two weeks apart, placed more of a spotlight on the superhero adaptations fighting it out at the box office. Yet Superman not only topped First Steps; given that the latest MCU film is the franchise’s highest grossing out of their three 2025 features, that equates to DC prevailing over all Marvel movies this year.

Since Spider-Man debuted in the MCU, his movies have been very successful for both Sony and Marvel. Marvel gets to use their most identifiable character, and Sony profits without actually making the movie. It’s a win/win. Firmly among the 100 highest-grossing movies in domestic box office history, director James Gunn's Superman has had a largely admirable theatrical run, which still hasn't quite ended. The movie will most likely pass the $600 million mark at the worldwide box office this weekend, even though it is now available to stream at home. Gunn said recently that the film's earlier-than-usual release on PVOD platforms was because the studio wanted audiences to watch it before the premiere of the second season of Peacemaker, and not for any other reason. The Marvel Cinematic Universe is an undisputed triumph of long-term storytelling. The fact that franchise architects such as Kevin Feige have been able to tell interwoven serialized stories over the course of multiple films, television shows, and beyond, and have them still culminate in meaningful and affecting ways is remarkable. However, this approach has also very much not come without its pitfalls. For as awe-inspiring as the accomplishments of the MCU are when the franchise is viewed on a holistic level, many of those strengths directly correlate to frustrating or exhausting weaknesses within the individual films on a more individualized level. But I don’t forget.” This directly correlates to the MCU’s latest status of Spider-Man, whose identity as Peter Parker was erased from everyone’s memory.

Since the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Tom Holland‘s web-slinging superhero has suffered an irreparable disadvantage. However, the MCU can negate all that by making Mark Ruffalo‘s Hulk remember who Peter truly is and healing the gaps in memory left by Doctor Strange’s spell.
