6 times The Witcher author Andrzej Sapkowski was a delightful grouch
Image
Andrzej Sapkowski is the talented author behind the internationally popular Witcher saga that has spanned multiple mediums, including the Netflix live-action series, animated films, video games, comics, and more. But it was Sapkowski's original book series that introduced the world to monster hunter Geralt of Rivia.

Geralt is known for his dry wit, and it clearly stems from the author's personality in real life. Sapkowski has cultivated a reputation for being a little grumpy during interviews, often speaking bluntly with no filter, going so far as to roast the adaptations of his story and publicly drag everyone from game developer CD Projekt Red (Cdpr) to fellow fantasy author George R.R. Martin. One thing about Sapkowski, he is not afraid to share his unvarnished opinions.

The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep Unveils First Look in New Trailer: Watch
Image
Fans of The Witcher series rejoice, as Netflix has just shared a new trailer for the upcoming anime film, The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep. The new trailer gives fans a first glimpse at the movie, as well as featuring some of the returning voice talent.

The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep is the second animated film in The Witcher series, following on from 2021's The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf. Once again animated by Studio Mir, the film was originally set for a 2024 release before being bumped back to 2025. It's based on the short story "A Little Sacrifice" by series creator Andrzej Sapkowksi, drawing directly from established material. The film is set to see Doug Cockle reprise his role from the games as Geralt of Rivia, while other actors from the live-action series will be reprising their roles, such as Joey Batey as Jaskier.

The upcoming anime film "The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf",  is both a spinoff and prequel to "The Witcher" live-action series, from producers Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, Beau DeMayo and Korea's Studio Mir, streaming August 23, 2021 on Netflix:

"The Witcher' started as a series of fantasy novels and short stories by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski, following 'Geralt of Rivia', a 'beast hunter' who developed supernatural abilities at a young age to battle monsters.

"...the 'Continent, was settled several thousand years earlier by 'elves' from overseas. When they arrived, the elves encountered 'gnomes' and 'dwarves'.

"After a period of war between the elves and dwarves, the dwarves retreated into the mountains and the elves settled in the plains and forests.

"Human colonists arrived about five hundred years before the events in the stories, igniting a series of wars. The humans were victorious, and became dominant; the non-human races, now considered second-class citizens,...
