Ever since the pilot episode first aired on YouTube, I was already very interested on this Vivziepop (Vivienne Medrano) creation. When I found out about Vivzie's work, it was something new and inventive than the usual adult-oriented comedy shows that air on TV.

Enter Blitzo (the O is silent), who opens an assassination business called Immediate Murder Professionals (or I. M. P.) for demons and the damned who were wronged in life on Earth. With the assistance of his fellow imps Moxxie, Millie, and hellhound Loona, they take on one target after another to please their clients.

With a talented voice cast featuring the likes of Brandon Rogers, Richard Horvitz (of Invader Zim fame), and Erica Lindbeck, there's bound to be frequent crude and sexual content their characters entail along with so much bloody violence and vulgar language to boot. Although the crew of IMP try to get the job done in their assassination work, it doesn't come without some humorous setbacks. Not to mention that some episodes tend to go deep in character development as well as story.

Judging by the unique characters, designs, and adult humor, I see the formula this way:

Panty & Stocking + Invader Zim + South Park = Helluva Boss

Though definitely not for little kids - despite some of the studio's early work being kid-friendly - Vivziepop is really expanding on this world she has created and I can tell there's no stopping her.

"Helluva Boss" is a great show for what it is. It is completely free to watch on YouTube and has animation on par and even better than most modern adult animations. The characters are all very easy to like, despite most of them being horrible people. It is a fun and original show that I feel deserves more acknowledgement. The only minor complaint I have is the somewhat formulaic episode structure and the long waiting period between the episodes. Otherwise it is a great show deserving of praise.

Helluva boss is amazing, the humorist Brandon Rogers bring the show a way funnier tone than Hazbin Hotel. Anyone looking for a episodic series with great characters and funny jokes, I would give a watch. However it's only a pilot we are hoping for more!

The animation is probably the best I've ever seen from a cartoon, and it makes it even more interesting because it's independent, this is a great recommend watch. The animation industry has been going through so much these days. You have the news that the MCU is overworking, they're animators. Do you have the news that the owl house is getting cancelled. And the fact that animation is struggling so much means that we should at least give props to the independent animation because they are making animations that would've never been made if they were under a TV network and I generally want you all to support shows like.

Helluva Boss is the type of show every adult animation should aspire to be. It doesn't rely on cheap laughs and shock humor like Family Guy and South Park. The writing goes into humor mixed with extensive backstories, lore, and character development. Far different from many adult cartoons.

The voice acting is just amazing. Broadway stars like Alex Brightman, Barrett Wilbert Weed, and Bryce Pinkham, mixed with VA veterans like Cristina Vee, Erica Lindbeck, and Richard Horvitz is a recipe for success. Seriously I couldn't tell that Octavia was voiced by Barrett.

And the animation flows like water it's that good. All of this was done by independent animators who got their careers started through Youtube. Yes I'm serious, this show was done by independent animators no big studios were involved in making this at all.

Everything is just so well done I'm surprised that this is just a youtube show. It's really that good.

Helluva boss was pretty hilarious short which in my opinion could work as a full series. Even though this is only a pilot the characters are great and the jokes are funny. I just they can turn this into a series.

A little warning all though it is animated this is not for young children.

I went into this with somewhat low expectations, yet it still blew me away. Great voicing, animation, music, and writing, this probably is one of the best pilots iv seen in years.

We didn't expect an animation this detailed from Vivziepop since Hazbin Hotel was released literally a few days before. This hit us by surprise. It is only a pilot, but it is amazing.

All of the main characters were likeable and I found the humor hit better with me from this show than Hazbin's humour did. I would probably say I ended up enjoying this a little more than Hazbin Hotel. I would recommend you check this out if you like dark humour. Stolas and Loona were two characters which make me chuckle uncontrollably, and Moxxie and Millie's relationship is so sweet! Definitely a pilot I would love to see be turned into a show!

My spouse loves this show, but it's really not my cup of tea.

Creative world-building, but the shows attempts to strike a range of emotions with its audience through music, humor, emotion, action. It can often be a hit-or-miss.

The plot feels a bit scattered with each episode contributing little to an overall plot. I don't see much character development & don't feel connected to the characters.

The humor isn't too clever and seems to heavily rely on comments being as vulgar/sexual as possible. Which becomes predictable and lackluster within a few episodes.

Ultimately, I think it's worth checking out the 1st episode. But there's no need to keep watching if it doesn't capture your interest from there.

For reference, I am writing this after seeing Hazbin's Pilot, Helluva Boss's Pilot, and episodes 1-7 of Helluva Boss.

Hazbin's Pilot was cool, loved the animation and world, but it wasn't my style of humor and the characters didn't intrigue me much. Helluva Boss's Pilot was a little better to me, but the characters in retrospect are kind of off and it is clear that they changed the direction they wanted to go with the characters and I really think they did the right thing.

As far as the actual show itself? Absolutely stellar. The voice acting is so perfect, I can't get over it. The animation flows so smoothly, you would never believe that this could be free on YouTube. The characters all have such fun and interesting moments and quirks, and they are so fun to watch while also being surprisingly complex. The character designs are excellent and really just make this world so believable and interesting. Every episode leaves you wanting to know more about the characters and the different places in hell, and the humor will keep you smiling throughout each episode. The music (especially Stolas's lullaby) has such high quality. To me, this show is basically perfect, and is easily sitting among my favorite animated content such as Steven Universe, Bojack Horseman, Tuca & Bertie, and Avatar the Last Airbender. Cannot wait to see where they take these characters and I wish success upon everybody working on this project.

Firsto off, I want to say that it is impressive that this series is entirely independent considering the quality of animation, voice acting, desings, and overall quality. I fully support this series and will continue watching it while valuing the effort behind its production. With that said, I think theres a lot that could be improved, mainly a lot of the jokes and the tone. The series is mostly episodical and tries to be funny at all times, and while some times they do achive this, its not the rule. There are some episodes and some scenes were there are some jokes that just feel out of place and not on time, while also depending a lot in swearing, blood, absurdity and shock. And Im all for it, its just that at one point it gets very repetitive and unfunny. Its the same with the violence and blood. Im perfectly fine with that and there is some very good implementation of these elements in some episodes, but just as the jokes, the fact that its very continuos makes it tiring, repetitive and it makes them to lose their impressiveness. Still a good and overall funny show, but that could be much better.

Helluva Boss is a clear example that good animation and stellar voice acting can easily be eclipsed by awful writing and a lack of direction.

Now, I don't have anything against juvenile humor, but it needs to have the right context in order to be funny. This isn't the case, however, because the characters just randomly drop sex jokes and vulgar language without any subtlety nor sensibility whatsoever. As if the writers thought swearing = funny.

What is arguably worse: The series has pretty much discarded its own original premise for a half-assed love story that, most likely, will stay under the rug for the foreseeable future.

Just to give you an idea, if you compare the pilot with the last episode (at the time of this review S2 EP6) you will find little to no connection between the two, except maybe for Blitzø.

Helluva Boss is an amazing show, and worth a watch. The voice actors are great, and the animation fits their line deliveries perfectly. I think I prefer Helluva Boss over Hazbin Hotel, simply because you spend more time with the characters, and really learn about them. Some jokes don't land, but those are immediately overshadowed by the good ones, and despite being a dark comedy series, there's definetly some wholesome scenes. All the episodes are currently on youtube for free, so there's no reason to not watch this show.

I LOVE Helluva Boss. Literally could rant on about how funny & entertaining I find it, despite only having two episodes out. Both of them are free, and you can watch them on YouTube at no cost. I'm only 13 but I really like it- just give it a shot if you aren't a christian mother.

I'll be honest with you, I never saw Hazbin Hotel before. So I didn't know what to expect with Helluva Boss. I was pleasantly surprised with Helluva Boss. The pacing is good, the voice acting was on-point, and the story was well written. And can I just say, that it's also very funny? I was watching this and I was like, "Holy shit this is one of the funniest comedies I've seen this year". Honestly if you haven't seen Helluva Boss before, do yourself a favor and check it out, I don't think you will be disappointed.

When the pilot for Helluva Boss came out in 2019 I was pretty excited for the future of this show. Now in late 2021 we have 2 episodes of Helluva Boss season 1 out and they're pretty good.

The animation in the episodes is outstanding! You can tell that passion was put into every single frame of this show. There are some shots where the character goes off model for a couple of frames and the character are slightly different heights but those are mostly nitpicks.

The writing is decent, there is a major plot hole in the first episode which wasn't a good look on the show but it sorta improves itself with episodes 2. I was wishing they would build up the relationship with Stolas and his daughter more so the payoff could be even better but overall episodes 1 and 2 and enjoyable episodes and are the decent start for the show.

I wish the best of luck to VivziePop and her team in the future.

If you like adult cartoons than this is easily the best one out there, no exaggeration! It's both the most beautiful and well written, with the best character building!

It takes a new spin on a hell which have been refined over thousands of years. The show introduces us to a very interesting concept (bounty hunting on earth) and a few interesting characters, and they have a lot to work on when it comes to their personality and relationships. One of the things this show does the best is that there are no filler episodes, and there is a lot of character building every episode. -Good job Vivzie!

I can tell you the truth is I love this TV show. This is really cool. I know: this animated series is not for young children, but me I can see a lot of adults series. I can't wait to upload the episode 8. The Hazbin Hotel I like that too, but the second when its coming? Bro, I am not joking. I love this series. I know. It's devil episode, but I like it 100%

This show started out with jokes made by a 13-year old that just learned about sex and an animation frame rate that was never really on point. I decided to keep watching to see where this would go, because I loved vivzie's comics. Boy does this show know how to make you LOVE their characters. The later episodes stopped overusing sex and cursing and started focusing more on the story. With all their characters being a lovable mess and the beautiful backgrounds you can just feel the ambition and love put into it! This show is definitely worth the wait (and I do mean wait because there is a long period between episodes)!

Its awesome. Its better than Hazbin Hotel. The characters are fun and witty and have their own personalities that make them loveable. The dark humor is way too funny. It never drives off from its "murderous business from hell" theme even in unneccessary places. We get to know more about the development of the characters as it progresses, which is great. THE STEREOTYPING!!!!! It makes the series worth watching. They constantly poke fun at stereotypical beings, making the dark humor funny.
