A Cinderella Story: Christmas Wish

This movie is pleasantly enjoyable, fun Christmas fluff, until they start a song. The autotune goes so far that it makes me wonder if a toddler got their hands on the equipment without anyone noticing until it hit the screen. It's a shame, too, because Laura Marano can definitely sing. It only ever got worse when they tried to pretend the characters were ACTUALLY singing. She's not an absolutely fantastic lip-syncer to start with, let alone when they're playing music that comes nowhere near something an actual human sounds like. Worth watching while making Christmas cookies though.

It is an ok movie, but why the autotune? It ruined for me.

I have to be honest here, I love romantic comedies, I love musicals and I love fairy-tales. It's my guilty pleasure of choice. That being said, this movie was really bad: it's watchable but I laughed at parts that weren't supposed to be funny and cringed at a lot of interactions between the protagonists. I understand I may not be the intended audience, it felt like it was aimed at preadolescents who know and love the actress from her Disney show and could overlook the auto-tune.

I, on the other hand, still remember the masterpiece it was the original Cinderella retelling, with Hillary Duff and Chad Michael Murray. All the movies that followed were progressively worse.

Just another cinderella story but at least with a unique approach being she is trying to be a singer. Its worth watching and a 6/10 seems fair.

As far as Christmas movies go, the acting was quite good! The step family are hilariously nasty and the two main characters relatable in a sickeningly sweet way. Wouldn't watch again, but worth a go!
