This movie is a silly combination of other movies, with every scene a cliché. My impression: a middle schooler gave the story to their parent, a wealthy producer, with the kid's friends directing, editing, and producing the audio and cgi. I'm giving it some points for scenery and camerawork, but the points deducted for noticable mistakes are too many to list. Also minus a point for mixing zombies with dinosaurs, its only distinguishing feature and not a good- or original- idea. In fact, this would be a good one for a film studies class since it's densely packed with things a filmmaker should avoid.

Ahem, what can I say.... it was so bad I watched it through to the end actually hoping that none of them got off the island. Ham acting all around especially the zombie with the wiggling tongue. I wondered if they meant it to be this bad.....so bad it was watchable. As previous reviewer said, if they had run with the idea that this is a spoof, they might have got away with it as there were some out loud laughs due to the direction. The dinosaurs were spectacularly awful, I think it brought to mind graphics from the 1980s, and the lack of detail to the background continuation was shameful. However if they only had a £100 to spend I suppose its not bad (the price of hiring a huge maritime sail boat and an cornucopian hip flask)

Horrible directing, horrible writing, and even more horrible acting. The worst part...the most horrible CGI I have seen in 40 years. The original Jurassic Park from almost 30 years ago has WAAAAYYYY better CGI than this dumpster fire.
This movie is one of the worst directed, worst written, and worst acted movies I have seen in awhile. Just skip it and find anything else. The ending, if u can even call it that, makes no sense, basically the movie just stops.
I just don't get what was the whole point, it just sucks so hard that I can't believe this has been done intentionally - surely something went horribly wrong somewhere, there has to be some excuse for the lack of any intelligence.

When I sat down to watch the 2022 movie "Jurassic Island" from writers Dominic Ellis and Tom Jolliffe, I have to admit that I wasn't expecting anything at all. I mean, the title alone was a clear and present indicator of this being one of those particularly bad low budget movies.
Yet, I opted to watch the movie on the account of it being a movie that I hadn't already seen, and perhaps there was a snowball's chance in Hell that director Dominic Nutter would surprise with a great movie.
Needless to say that director Dominic Nutter didn't surprise with a good movie. Nay, "Jurassic Island" was every bit as bad as I had expected it to be, and then some.
The storyline here was just sheer and utter rubbish. I mean, an uncharted and undiscovered island upon where there were dinosaurs living and inhabiting? Yeah, maybe if the year was 1950. But seriously, how could writers Dominic Ellis and Tom Jolliffe hope to pass this for an acceptable and worthwhile storyline? And when the characters do make it to the island and find the camp, you can see a roof of a building on the opposite shore of the water. Wasn't this an uninhabited and undiscovered island? The whole concept of the storyline felt like something that was concocted by a pre-schooler.
Then there were the laughably poorly animated CGI dinosaurs that seemed to have managed to escape from an 1990s computer game. I wasn't expecting any grand CGI extravaganza here in "Jurassic Island", but the rendering of these dinosaurs were just spectacularly bad. The special effects in this movie were such an eyesore that even a blind dinosaur would stop up dead in its track and go "say what?!"
I also have to mention that the blood splatter effects in the movie were just beyond atrocious. In fact, they were so bad that you can't help but topple over laughing when you see it.
And if highly questionable CGI dinosaurs wasn't enough, then the uninhabited island also have green leeches that will turn anyone bitten into ravenous flesh-eating zombie-like creatures. Yeah, that's right. You read that right. I know, it is just dumb beyond belief. But hey, maybe there is a promising role-playing game waiting to be made here; Dinosaurs & Zombies.
The acting performances in the movie were dubious at best. It amazes me that in 2022 actors and actresses still agree to participate in questionable movie projects such as "Jurassic Island".
I knew that director Dominic Nutter's 2022 movie was going to be bad, I just didn't figure it would be this much of a stinker. Yet, I managed to endure the movie to the end. Does that mean I win some sort of prize?
My rating of "Jurassic Island" lands on a well-deserved one out of ten stars.

It took me a while to work out this wasn't a spoof.
Wooden acting, terrible music, laughable cgi. I think it would have actually been quite good as a spoof if they played on that.
I watched it to the end as I just had to see this one through. Do yourself a favour and don't even start it.

It was not worth the time or the money to watch this. I actually enjoyed the Jurassic movies but this one really ruined it. So fake. My daughter and her friend laughed the entire time at how fake and unrealistic it all was.

I went into this thinking it was going to be a good movie to laugh about and I did. Just maybe not for the reasons I thought. A very entertaining storyline even if it does have it's ups and downs. I think the main thing that throws it off is the CGI mainly because I suspect that the director filmed everything without much thought for the post-production and as such the CGI artist had to just figure it out by himself. But overall I really enjoyed it.

Worried about her missing parents, a woman gathers a team of friends to go looking for them once they learn of their trek to a remote island looking for signs of prehistoric life, and once they arrive there are confronted by a slew of still-living dinosaurs forcing them to survive and get off the island alive.
Overall, this was a solid enough genre effort. What works nicely here is the films' adventure film setup involving the quest to find her missing father and the mystery surrounding the island they're going to visit. With the general setup involving the daughter arriving to find their disappearance and the quest to gather a crew that will head out onto the island in search of them, the early parts here aren't that bad at getting the group onto the island in the first place. Featuring the groups' struggles to adapt to the island once they arrive, including the parasite that infects the one member turning him into a possessed killer and the group traversing the jungle on the search for the missing parents while conducting a slew of tests about the wildlife to be found there gives this a strong enough start. Likewise, the ensuing series of dinosaur attacks that emerge once they arrive here is cheesy enough to be quite fun. The opening ambush on the party on the island with no context for anything gives this a strong starting point to the fun, while the initial encounters revolve around the zombie-like attacks which are rather fun with the sudden changes taking effect. The various dino attacks, including the Rex ambush in the middle of the woods, the Pterodactyl appearing out of nowhere to swarm a victim, and the finale involving the escape to the boat away from the dinosaur hunting them on the beach are just cheesy enough to make for a fun time. These here manage to hold this up over its flaws while there are several factors that hold this one back. The main drawback to this one is the surprising lack of intelligence on behalf of these people who are in the middle of everything. The main culprit here is not listening to authority and sticking around to either get stuck in the middle of the jungle involving killer leeches that turned you into a ravenous zombie. There's ample evidence to suggest getting away from the area is a proper way to about surviving the situation yet they always want to return to wrecked campsites in order to retrieve information left behind or to attempt contact with individuals that are clearly infected and possessed. There's little surprise why they continually get into trouble here with the kind of decision-making featured here. The last factor here that holds it back is the seemingly obvious and rather unrealistic special effects work that plays out for the dinosaurs. They're anatomically weird in having far too wide a stance or other bizarre proportions that aren't in any way realistic or believable but also just feature just about every shot of them features the creature doing something unnatural or bizarre. Either they're performing unusual movements in order to keep the entire figure in the frame when it never could've bent into that position or appearing to change size in the screen which comes complete with all the hallmarks of the typical underwhelming CGI usually found in this style. Otherwise, this one isn't that bad.
Rated Unrated/R: Graphic Violence and Language.

First you think of an idea that has already been done. Then you give it a name nobody could possibly like....on the best seller list for 18 months!....one of the greatest movies of all time, sir! WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?!
This is my first review ever on IMDB. I am appalled of the rating given to this movie. For that reason I am writing this review to let everyone else to save their time and skip this movie. Dinosaurs are not realistically made. They are computer designed and horribly designed . Transitions from scene to scene is horrible too.

Okay, this one has several problems. Poor direction, poor acting, poor dialogue, poor story and CG dinosaurs that look really out of place. Maybe they only had a budget of £1.50 for each day of shooting or maybe they made it as a joke or a dare, regardless, this film is best left on the fail pile.
I was hoping that the cast and crew were just finding their movie making feet with the start being somewhat bad. Alas, the entire production just doesn't gell; you constantly get the feeling that this is very amateurish, thrown together and made in the way of "that'll do, next scene".
Verdict: 1/10.

Low budget zombie meets dinosaur disaster. Might be a candidate for MST 3000 or Elvira? Don't mistake this for any relation to the Jurassic franchise.

I put this on to have a laugh at some inept and shocking film making but am actually not that shocked. Yes it starts off terribly but as soon as the lead enters it gets better. She is not a bad actress and most of the supporting cast arent terrible either. A couple are terrible though.
Aside from the CGI, the quality of acting, prod values, cinematography and score are about at the level of a BBC crime drama, which is high praise for a movie like this. Basically I have seen much much worse and at least the actors know how to act fairly convincingly. So, on these fronts it isn't too bad at all.
The CGI is atrocious. I know we couldn't expect Jurassic Park levels of CGI but it is 2022 and surely there's a ton of good CGI compositors out there now for a reasonable price. Obviously not. As the movie is based on dinosaurs and it's kind of the theme having bad CGI really lets it down. If you really suspend disbelief you may be able to get past it, we all knew the dino's in Jurrasic Park were fake after all, but they were convincincing when you were immersed in the movie of course.
I guess most of the really bad movies I've seen were from the 90's and 2000's and I haven't seen any low budget modern ones before this. I'm surprised how much the quality of the lowest budget films has wrisen over the last decade or so, if this movie is anything to go by. I supposed good quality film equipent is cheaper, or rather, you can do a lot more with less, including drones and such and learning to act is more accessible.
Anyway, apologies for the non-review that's more of a ramble about modern low budget films.

My homie qoutes
"it made my palms sweat, the grizzliness, action and suspense in this absolutely terrifying movie are like absolutely nothing i have ever seen before
the suspense is masterfully stretched out, and all of a sudden, releesed, when you leest acspect it"
my otha homee quots "this movie is a masterful piece of cinema, never before have i felt sop metotiomnally invested in a movie like this, jurassic island, is the best movie, that me and my brethren, have ever seen in existences of our lives, i cannot fathom how people like chrisarmstrong - 22136 feel that quote on quote thisd is a "pile of dung", im in utter disbelief that someone can be this naive to true cinema, the production company, proportion produhctions, has clearly shown that they are more than capable of creating masterpieces, this movie is only comparable to the likes of jurassic universe, another stellar piece of cinema, that people dont understand the truemeaning of, so they blame the movie, when in fact it is their own fault, if there is only one thing i could get everyone on this world to do, it would be to watch jurassic island, 10/10 ps i love you luke, i will miss you."
from me, i would like to say tyhis movie has touched a part of me which has never been touched before, in any way similar to this, this is something which will impact me for the rest of the years i have left of my life it has changed my outlook on life and my perspective on nature, and the world overall, the buildups and the twists have all caused devastatingly unbelievable reactions, i now suffer with bipolar personality disorder, due to this movie, and ptsd, as the cgi work of the dinosaurs was picturesque and at times i felt as if i mysef was on jurassic island, stranded, with no way out, taking a psychological toll on me, and truly making me feel the same terror the brave characters felt, allowing a level of empathy, i knew not existed
would watch again.

You'd expect a movie called Jurassic island with a dinosaur on the poster to be about dinosaurs, but strangely, zombies are the main feature. Which might be a good thing, considering the zombies were far more believable than the poorly composited, horribly animated dinos. None of them looked like they were in the environment, all of the raptor and t-Rex arms were frozen awkwardly in place, and there's no way the animator even referenced a plastic dinosaur, because they mistook the t-rex's ankle for a second knee, leading to the oddest shaped, most bizarre walk cycle I've ever watched.
We laughed a ton, but not at anything intentionally added to the script.
We were also rooting for everyone to die, but you'll have to watch it to find out.
